This may be a dumb question or then again maybe not.

I have seen those commercials for Dr. Franks snake oil spray and before you go nuts, please read on.

My Siberian husky is about 15 years old and for the last year his hips-hind motivation has become labored and painful I’m sure. It looks like he can barely drag his butt off the ground.

So has anyone tried the Dr. Franks pet formula and what where the results?

I have never heard of Dr. Frank's Spray but am wondering if you have though about finding a holistic vet that performs acupuncture?

Years ago my dog, Freeway was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and spleen.  The last resort was taking him to a vet who practiced holistic medicine and prescribed a whole slew of vitamins, minerals and acupuncture.

Within two days, Freeway was acting like a puppy again...running, barking and eating like a horse.  It bought him 3 more months of what I feel was pain free time.

There are also websites where you can buy wheelchairs for dogs or you might find it helpful to use a sling (or roll a large sized beach towel and place it in front of his back legs to lift him up to help him walk) to relieve his pain.

It's so hard seeing your best buddy in pain but he is lucky to have such a caring Dad.

Dunno - haven't had to deal with dog arthritis yet, will in the not so distant future.

It looks homeopathic - probably no side effects, but not sure if it has the main effects.  The apis mellifera 6x is 1 part per million bee venom (maybe less if they use bee parts or whole bee) - that might actually have an effect.  The stuff that is 30x you can probably ignore as it is so diluted.

I don't know much about holistic stuff and I have NO idea what Dr. Frank's spray is so I can only suggest meds that I know works.

First of all Glucosamine that you can get at Costco is good for arthritic dogs.  The stuff with MSM is great too, same stuff humans would take.
The other thing is nsaids like Rimadyl, or Metacam or Previcox that you'd get at the vets.  You'll want to do bloodwork for liver values then watch those and make sure they don't go up (like every 6 months).   There is another drug that is glucosamine and msm and a few other things called Phycox that I got for my moms dog.  She has a middle aged lab that has wrecked her back by chasing balls down hills and can get pretty gimpy.  She WAS on previcox and it worked GREAT (turned her into a puppy) but I didn't like the idea of her being on an nsaid for her life, plus she was a lab and I was worried about her liver, so I switched her to Phycox and it seems to work JUST as good and I think it's better for her body.

There's my 2 cents.  If the arthritis gets worse or he loses control of his back end he might have to go to steriods, but that's the vets and your chose.
