Title: Essex Co. trickle down economics
Post by PollyPocket on Sep 13th, 2008 at 5:19pm
Next door neighbor works asses off all their lives.
Builds new home.
Continues to work from sun up to sun down.

Sometime between 1 pm and 5:30 pm yesterday when I got home, someone decided what Mark and Susan worked for all their lives now belonged to them.

From what we can gather from the information, its highly likely that whomever robbed our next door neighbors, came here too.
Zoey greeted them.

Damn. I feel so bad for my next door neighbors!   I spoke with him earlier today, and we're going to be more diligent in watching out for each other (hard to do thru the trees) but damn! I just wish someone saw SOMETHING

Security cams at the doors that activate on motion detection. If your not there to bust their heads at least you will have video.....and you can hook up pretty cheap nowa days.

thats the plan Jonny. We're getting one tomorrow.  and a gate at the end of the drive. May not stop 'em, but should slow their vehicle down a bit.

I HATE a f'n thief...... >:(

We put a security system in....wired right into the police....also sets of a LOUD alarm.   It works to....something set it off once and the police arrived before I got the call from the security company.  Also have motion activated lights all around........good deterrent according to the security company and not that expensive.

The monitored alarm system is a bit expensive but a bargain considering the alternative.

Seems the thieving is getting worse....always does when the economy gets bad... :(

Really sorry about your neighbors, Jen......that SUCKS!!!  Sure leaves one feeling violated.

When I bought my house I fabricated steel clips for both sides of my cellar door, I just drop a double 2x4 in there and nothing is getting through that door. They once kick the shit out of it and still could not get through....LOL  ;D

I fabricated steel window frames with bars in the cellar.....aint shit getting through those.....LOL  ;)

Front door is solid oak, I couldnt replace the lock so I busted the key off in it......it dont open from the outside...... :o

My main entrance is the side door, 30 feet away is a pen where the guy next door keeps his two rotwillers. If I pull up in a vehical they dont know they go wild....Good thing that they know me when I get out of it...LOL :)

I think im covered for now.  8-)

Good job, jonny....especially on the basement windows.  Security guys told me that's the first place the try to get in......drop kids down then  they go up and unlock doors or windows for the big guys.

Sucks big time! Stay mad. It's a good emotion for now.

I guess I'm spoiled living here. Been on my street since 1963 with no robberies. From what I read here, Jonny would make a great neighbor.

Good for Zoey!  Bad for the neighbors.  :(

Best security system I have had is on 4 leggs, packs fur and has a big mouth.  No time delay between the act and alarm and security showing up.

Hope your neighbors get their stuff back.

-P.

I concur on the fur.

Its not that dogs are invincible or anything, it is just that crooks are too lazy to deal with an advertised problem. If they had any desire to work, they probably would just have jobs.

Here is my "security system". It is a bit old, but still works great!
