Title: What could this be... need help !
Post by HappyElaine on Oct 2nd, 2008 at 8:19pm
I don't know where to look this up at . My brother in law just called me and wanted me to look up what could be wrong with his grandbaby. The child is 2 months old and her head is not growing and the soft spot in front of her head has closed. They are taking her to a neuralogist. What could it be where would I look and what do I look for?
I know if anyone knows what to put in search ya'll will.

Thanks in advance.

That's one possibility.

There are a number of others.

oooh honey dont jump to conclusions just yet at 2 month there are too many things it could be just wait till your brother in law has the baby seen by the neuro.  If the doctors are going by the one month well baby visit measurments, at one month the "soft spot" in most cases has not fused and the head can still be swollen from birth so at two months the head may be the same size but the swelling is gone and the soft spot is fused.  Hope for the best.   My prayers go out to your family.    Phil

E-please, honey, close the medical books, un-Google this, and let the Dr begin to do his/her job.........
I can't remember when the fontanel is sposed to harden.....but in a baby that age....well, it just might be that she is a bit slower in THAT  phase of her development!
LOL>..Gil once laughed at me for a long time.........he had been observing my behavior as I paced and worried about something that MIGHT  have happened....I finally asked him what was causing his mirth.........he then asked.."are your legs tired?"....I sneered at him and replied 'No, why?".....he put his arm around me and said, 'because they must be, as much as you have been jumping to conclusions!".....I coulda hit him...smacked him right in the kisser, but, know what, he was right!
Please don't wear you feet........or your heart out with worry E.......find out....then share with us. Till then, sleep well, and kiss that lil baby for me!

I'm sorry Elaine, I didn't mean to scare you!  It's just that I've come across this before when I used to peruse the pregnancy forums.

I'd do what Cathi said anyway and STOP GOOGLING!!  It'll drive ya nuts and make you extremely anxious.  Best that your BIL just get the docs opinion!

hugs,
mel
