Can't always go by approval rate -- Castro has 100% approval rate in Cuba - for about 60 years.... :) Hugs BD |

Babara,
Castro has a 100% approval rate in Cuba? Are you sure you really want to go there??? Your argument in specious. I don't back her because she is pretty. I back her because of what she has DONE in Alaska. Has Joe Biden gone against anyone in the DNC over his corruption with big oil? Has Obama? Has Chris Dodd? Has Barney Frank? Has ANY nationally elected Democrat gone against one in his own party over corruption? She has, and she has my vote as a result. Character makes the difference for me. Jerry |

Amazing, simply amazing.
Most of this country let the democrats make them stupid (really stupid), and now the democrats are administering the final blow. Lucky for them, they were very successful in numbing the public to the slow descent into socialism. Sad. |

The republicans were a little more than willing accomplices in this movement. Edit to add - they enjoy their power too, and don't want to see it threatened by an intelligent voting class. |

I agree that Republicans went stupid, but I still blame it on the Democrats/Liberals. The Republicans fell into the trap of trying to work within the system, that is, they discovered the only way to get any legislation through was to abandon their ideals and load things up with pork. I disagree that they fear an intelligent voting class. History has shown the opposite is true. |
Title: Re: Song of the year..... Post by Agostino Leyre on Oct 10th, 2008 at 1:28pm
History is irrelevant at this point, we need to concerned with now and the future.
Edit to add - History shows that we have continued to vote away our rights year after year in exchange for "security", which is failing but our rights aren't returning. Time to shake things up or lose it all. |

That sums up the liberals quite nicely. First, make sure that nobody knows or understands history (destroy our school system), then when the stragglers who do remember bring it up... IT IS IRRELEVANT. |
Title: Re: Song of the year..... Post by Brew on Oct 10th, 2008 at 3:29pm
Begging your pardon, but history is always relevant - particularly when you're talking about the present and the future.
