Title: Funny movies...
Post by Melissa on Oct 11th, 2008 at 10:39am
Thought it'd be good to make a list of funny movies that can be rented during this uncertain time in our lives. :)

I'll start with some of my personal favorites...

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Blades of Glory
The Benchwarmers
Dumb & Dumber
Mrs. Doubtfire
Nacho Libre
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

next! :)

And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

Oh, oh, "Tommy Boy"!!!  I soooo miss Chris Farley. :(

I watched another movie last night, wasn't a comedy, but there were a couple good laughs in it.  It was "Ironman".  I really liked it! :)

We watched that a few days ago, it was goood. I miss Chris Farley too, as a kid I could do his "in a little van down by the river" speeches.. XD

Also, I remembered something else, if anyone wants to have a good time with a few other people, get some silent movies!

My boyfriend brought several with him on his last visit, well, we wound up evacuating before we could watch all of them... So, we sat around with my family watching them.

Basically everyone got in on coming up with what each character was saying / doing during it. We also laughed some because of how they were sooo dramatic. (they had to be to convey emotions and all...) We all wound up laughing pretty hard.

A little trivia - did you know that the orange pumpkin-looking thing in Darkstar was ultimately the inspiration for "Alien"?  No kidding!

Jim

Yeah...the guy that played Sgt. Pinback..co-wrote the screenplay for "Alien" and he based it on the "beachball alien" section of the film...

"Thank you for pushing the self destruct button"...I loved that movie.
