Title: My new ride!
Post by catlind on Oct 14th, 2008 at 9:21am
Ok maybe I'm crazy, but after we test drove some other vehicles, when I got into this Kia Sedona, it felt good, it felt comfortable, it felt like an old familiar friend.

You can see it at that website, but that is NOT what we paid, they really worked with us and they took GREAT care of us considering we were walking in without much bargaining power except a few bucks down.

I figure that van probably saved my life, and the newer ones have full front and rear side curtain and door airbags, making them even safer, the only mini van to have a 5 star crash rating in all categories (although it showed on the van that it had a 4 star in rollovers - I personally give it 5 stars in a rollover)

The new one handles soooooooo much better, I have the safety of my old vehicle without the cumbersome weight and difficulty handling on these roads.  With the electronic stability control in it, I feel that much more at ease driving it on these roads.  And before we bought it, he plated it up and gave it to us to drive home and drive for half a day, not just a test drive, allowing me to drive both up and back down the mountain and past the exact scene of my accident so I was able to overcome any remaining fears and actually have some confidence back in my driving.

I just know now not to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road for even a second when you are going around these curves :P

Ooooooooo, that's NICE Cat!

I especially like the position of the shifter, I always hated having mine on the column! (blocks my view of the radio display, lol)

LOL Mel, I've discovered up here that if anything blocks the view of anything you can't touch it while driving ;) so I love how it's got everything positioned - oh and as a bennie, they are putting in a new kenwood stereo for us so I can hook up my iPod and not have to worry about the cassette jack ;)

They also gave us full warranty on it, even though it's an 08 and used, and we purchased the further bumper to bumper on it ;)

And even with all that we still didn't come close to what the price shows on the ad - they REALLY helped us out and worked with us.

Cat

edited to add: and I really like the driver and passenger comfort controls for air and heat, AND it has it in the rear as well with full temperature control!

Good for you, Sweetie......It's important to feel safe and confident in a vehicle.  I'm happy for you.

Much Love,
Mom (your other one  :))

Looks good Cat! You already know how well they do in a roll-over so DON'T be doing that again!
Glad you picked up the extra warranty on this van, just to be safe. Enjoy your new ride! 8-)
