Today I had to take my daughter, Alyssa, to the doctor for an ear infection.

Her doctor asked her how much TV she watches.  Tells her he only wants her watching TV for an hour each day.

She told him that she NEVER watches TV!  (and she was a little indignant!)

I was like WHAT??  You're always watching TV!  

She said NO I DONT.    

I'm like ... A ...YEAH - you watch it every day.... you were just watching Animal Planet!

That's NOT TV!!

Yes, it is.  

NO - it's NOT.... and I never watch TV!!!

YES YOU DO!  You were just watching it before we came here!

Now she's getting pissed!  She looks at me oh so seriously, slams her hand on the counter, and says
"NO MOM!!  That's CABLE.... not TV.   Geesh~!" :D

The Dr and I shared a look and both started crackin up!

I'll spare you the conversation we had trying to explain to her TV. and cable... and OMG - it was halarious!   She doesnt GET IT.


Ohhhhhhhh but wait = there's more!

Sometimes.. We'll be in the car and one of us will ask off the wall questions.. just to start a conversation.   I cant remember what movie or tv show we saw it on - but once someone asked someone else... would you rather be blind or have your hand cut off?   So we always ask each other questions like that.

After the dr visit, we're driving home, jammin to Prince (of all things).. and she turns off the music, and looks at me SOOO seriously... and says...

"Ear infection or the drip?"

..... she MEANT ... runny nose.

but i busted out laughing and i had to pull over.    it was the looks on her face... so serious  .. and innocent. ... and then total confusion when i started crackin up.


for those of you who dont know her... alyssa is so frikkin funny - because she has NO clue half the time.   She says some off the wall things and always has me laughing and doesnt know why - which makes it funnier.

she is not the brightest crayon in the box.. but i love her.. and she's all mine! ;D

Oy... she is 14 ..... and VERY adorable....
and very funny.   Being depressed this last year - i dont know if i would have made it if it wasnt for her.  she keeps me laughing - no matter how bad i feel.

To be honest, this was like reading a post about Lily.  At least Alyssa has a sense of humor and can make you laugh!  Lily is very corny. :P

Can I borrow Alyssa for a week or so?

Awww, you guys are making me miss Kaleb even more :(
He's away in Idaho at Job Corps now...and just got a job
in KANSAS!!! So now he's even further away :(
I have teenager cravings.  I go visit one of my friends just
to talk to his kids! :)

LOL Woobs.....knowing Alyssa and you I can almost hear the conversation and see it too.  Yep, she's a cute and precious kid.

How did she get 14 years old already? :-/
