Before I go to the polls in 19 days, I'm going to remember which politician voted for the asinine 700 billion bailout/rescue bill.  These were some of the provisions in that bill...

(btw, commentary is not mine, I got this off an Arizona site here: START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE)

I thought I read that this was originally a bill extending certain tax items such as you list.  When the House couldn't pass the bailout, the Senate took their tax exemtion bill and added the bailout to it, voted on it and forced the House to do the same.

So in reality the bailout was added to these tax items, the items weren't added to the bailout.

It does point out why our tax regulations are so messed up!!!!

I should have clarified.  I'm going to remember which politician voted for the FIRST asinine 700 billion bailout/rescue bill.

Quote:
...days after receiving an $85 billion lifeline from the Federal Reserve, now it’s $86,000 for a hunting trip in England as the faltering company reaped another $37.8 billion in taxpayer funded loans.

The insurer then said it canceled a future California retreat that was to be held later this month.

V.P. Progress Meeting

Bob:  So, what's the state of affairs?

Ernie:  It seems Bob, we could use about 123 billion dollars to tread water.

Bob:  Well Ern, I sure could use that end of the year retreat in Cal.

Ernie:  Kink in plans, Bob.  We arranged that perk back when it was looking like only $30 billion would save the day.  Seems it's an issue now.

Well those poor guys have been working so hard screwing us - they probably need a little R&R! Maybe they should take Dick Cheney with them and have a little hunting trip.....

They'll be wasting their money. Apart from a few deer and some rabbits they won't find much to hunt here. They should stay at home and leave our wildlife alone.
