Title: Chicago Post by Callico on Oct 17th, 2008 at 6:48pm
Interesting facts on Chicago
Body count. In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago , 221 killed in Iraq . Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Mayor Richard Daley.....our leadership in Illinois .....all Democrats. Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago . Of course they're all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans, they're aren't any! State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look'em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois . He's gonna 'fix' Washington politics? Something to think on. Jerry |

Hey Jerry, I'll guarantee that this election year propaganda wasn't written by anyone from Chicago. At least not anyone that actually cares about Chicago or the number of murders in the city. Hell, I remember when the count for a 6 month span was over 700 murders. Chicago is a great city & getting better (although more expensive all the time). I'd also walk around most of Chicago, alone at night, sooner than I would some parts of Aurora LOL. OVERALL: (371 cities) MOST DANGEROUS 25: 1 St. Louis, MO 2 Detroit, MI 3 Flint, MI 4Compton, CA 5 Camden, NJ 6 Birmingham, AL 7 Cleveland, OH 8 Oakland, CA 9 Youngstown, OH 10 Gary, IN 11 Richmond, CA 12 Baltimore, MD 13 Memphis, TN 14 Trenton, NJ 15 Richmond, VA 16 Kansas City, MO 17 Atlanta, GA 18 Cincinnati, OH 19 Washington, DC 20 North Charleston, SC 21 Reading, PA 22 Newark, NJ 23 Little Rock, AR 24 San Bernardino, CA 25 Orlando, FL If we could filter out all the half truths about this election, we'd have a lot more time to spend talking about sex, drugs and Rock and Roll. ;) BobW |

That all this is the fault of Democrats is easily disputed and in fact doesn't need to be. It's absurd.

Bob,
With respect, I agree with you that Chicago is better than it was a few years ago. I also agree that parts of Aurora can be rough, however, if you want to compare Aurora's crime rate per capita with other of the collar communities you would be very surprised. Also, having driven a limousine in Chicago for 4 1/2 yrs I can guarantee there are places in Chicago I will not go even if I was allowed to be armed. That however is not the point. The point is a comparative of the ones responsible for the conditions we have here in the Chicagoland area and IL. If the government and the conditions we have here are to your satisfaction vote accordingly. Personally, I'm very dissatisfied. Jerry |

Meanwhile, the Republican ex-Governor, George Ryan, sits in jail for taking cash in exchange for giving drivers licenses to those that couldn't pass the driving test:
The corruption scandal that led to Ryan's downfall began over a decade earlier as a federal investigation into a deadly crash in Wisconsin that killed six children. The investigation revealed a scheme inside Ryan's secretary of state's office in which unqualified truck drivers obtained licenses through bribes. As the AP wrote: "The probe expanded over the next eight years into a wide-ranging corruption investigation that eventually reached Ryan in the governor's office." -------------------------------------------- We are all Americans, for our own good, we need to stop blindly associating with either party because neither represents our interests. |
