(Ok so it's not real Big time) I’ve lived thru a lot of presidential campaigns but nothing like the last few months. I’ve never heard so many lies and half truths in my entire life. Our economy is falling apart. Do I care who stands where on abortion (I’m against it)? Not the biggest problem facing the nation right now. I care about my Social Security, health care, gas prices and what’s going to be done for the economy. I don’t care what some preacher said in church several years ago (I’ve heard a few say things I didn’t agree with myself) and the 60s were a different era (I’ve got “friends” who wouldn’t bear close scrutiny too, but they’re nice upstanding citizens today). If people would just do a little “research” a SEE what the candidates are proposing (don’t just sit and watch excerpts of their speeches on TV). Read their proposals and do a little “thinking” for yourself. Quit relying on the spam e-mails, you might find out there are a lot of bull being spewed out there. Factcheck.com is a good place to start. I remember back in the 50’s when a Catholic guy was running for President. The “word” was if he got elected the Pope would be running this country. He got elected and the last time I checked, the Pope was still in Rome. Barbara D Henderson Now is everyone suitably impressed? Yeah right.... ::) Hugs BD |
