It's true, they've called it off! That being the case, everyone has to start being nice to each other again, no one has to pick their friends based on red state vs. blue state! No one has to endure anymore stupid TV commercials about who is the greatest evil, no more ugly ugly postings haranging each other! I for one am absolutely ecstatic!!!

The General board on CH won't have ANY political arguments that NEVER change anyones mind anyways but just piss off the other side! I think I'll leave work early, go home and have a drink. I haven't been this happy since they started running re runs of Bonanza and the Rockford Files on TBS!!!

They the politicians started twice as early at the running and are only half way there in making you comfortable in casting a vote their way. :-X

From my point of view I haven't seen anybody on the board here sling anything close to what I would call upsetting with reguard to a political thread.  

The debates and arguments I have had at the University would make you all look like amatures.  The guy I worked with for over 20 years was about as far to the left as I am to the right.  At the end of the day we were still friends.  We had the same office and he was on the right side and I was on the left when entering the room.  We put arrows on the floor the one pointing right said left, the one pointing left said right.  Made for some confused people unless they knew us.  LOL  The trick is not to take someones viewpoint as a personal attack.  It is THEIR viewpoint and at the end of the day that is all it is. :)

Yep.  Pretty civilized, really, compared to some of the political blogs and discussion groups I've been frequenting lately.

The debates here.... as well as on T.V. have made me ill.   So I am so glad the election has been called off.   Nasty is what I call all of it.  Maybe since GWB can't run again we can just have an interim President for a while.  Like maybe you Joe?  You've got more sense than all of them.

The debates here have been extremely civil based on one of the forums that I am a member of.  I won't even post there, because it's degenerated to the point of finger pointing and name calling.  The candidates are kiddiegardners in their mudslinging compared to this particular forum (the other forum not this one).  PErsonal insults abound and it's coming from both sides.
