I was out riding my mountain bike quite awhile back, when I found a hawk eating a snake. I got lucky and my camera took some pictures of the action:


The hawk has an over grown beak problem, so he couldn't break the snake up into bite sized chunks - swallowed it whole.

Slowly crept up on him to get a closer view. He was still chugging away. Too busy to even pay attention to me.

The snake finally figured out what was going on, but it was too late!

After all that work, the hawk decided to play it cool, like it was easy stuff.

You will notice that I didn't even make any political comparisons of the hawk and the snake..........

That dude's got one ugly snout!  My guess is a Cooper's Hawk.  Definitely a gopher snake going down the hatch.

Great pics Marc.  I love watching the redtail hawks here, they are such magnificent creatures.
