Relationships here have been strained due to this election.  I feel like I've lost the respect of people I thought were my friends.

I feel very sad. :'(

Turn that frown upside-down, oh, Melly-mine! Your frineds are your friends regardless...especially when it comes to Politics! And, if someone is so shallow as to turn on you because of politics....well, I'm not sure I would place much value on them!

Now, elections ARE indeed, behind us..... let's get back to beast-bashing fun stuff!

You've gotta remember that I live in Idaho.  Unless a political party requires its members to move into an armed compound peopled with goose-stepping skinheads, we don't really notice extremism.   ;)

I agree with George, the debates on here were very mild.  I've seen a lot stronger stuff around here about a whole lot less important issues.  there are several here that I disagree with very strongly politically, but they would be the first I would want behind me dealing with CH, and though I have not yet met them I consider them very good friends.  

Friendship goes way beyond agreeing on every thing.  That went out in Jr High.

Politics, football and religion are just something that people are NEVER gonna agree on (at least in my LONG experience).

But during this LOOONGGG election season You, my dear have kept it interesting BECAUSE You have taken the time and effort to do RESEARCH (and had this old broad doing a lot of reading that she hasn't heretofore been doing!) and come back with a lot of FACTS. If nothing else, I'd say that gained a lot of respect from those who didn't know you, so the balance sheet probably shows more assets (friends that is) on your side.

Now, here's the Granny lecture -- don't you EVER change that curiosity... when kids your age QUIT asking questions and arguing facts we're doomed.... Not quit exfoiliating so much and let that skin build up a little tougher...
