I tried to describe our current economic mess, but this guy just refused to listen:

That is an amazing picture Marc!!  What kind of camera do you use to get that kind of detail on a close photo like that??

Thanks for sharing...your photos always make me smile.

And when I finally got him to listen, he thought it was hilarious and laughed at me!

Cat - These were shot with a Nikon D200. The trick is to get close.

Carolyn, to answer your question - I used a mid-range Sigma 100-300 zoom lens - not exactly pro level equipment, but lots of bang for the buck IMO. :) It's one of the few lenses that I've kept through the process of downsizing. On the used market, I just couldn't get enough for money out of to justify getting rid of it. All of my expensive stuff is long gone.

I have hundreds of images like these because I too, loved to sit and watch them. That's also the only way to get close. One-foot-at-a-time.

Thanks for the comments!

Marc: what %screen Matte paper would you print your pictures on? I'm using a Xerox Phaser 8400 solid ink Laser printer. And was wondering what you would think is a good paper to print on.
  Thanks
