I am new to this board and have a few questions.  First, I first dealt with CH many years ago, but they went away for about 12 years, and now they're back, or at least I think they are.  This leads me to my first question and that is, how can you tell the difference between a cluster headache and an occipital headache, aka occipital neuralgia.
Also, this time around I've experienced a lot of sinus presure in between bouts.  I did not experience this last time.  Any comments?

I am not sure any of us can help you, yet.  You need to go see a competent headache specialist (neurologist) and see what they find.  After being absent for 12 years, I wonder if it still is clusters.

Unfortunately, there are other problems that mimic cluster, so you need to get all those eliminated, first.  An MRI, CAT scan, and possibly an MRA too.  We are not doctors, so we cannot diagnose you.  You need hands on, one on one vist with a doctor.

  Welcome,  Listen to Chuck please see your doctor to make sure there is not any life threatening things going on in your skull.  We will be here when you get back from the doctor for any support and advise that we can give.

Update: Saw my doctor and getting an MRI tomorrow...In the meantime, going to a physical therapist who is fantastic.  He's helpng quite a bit with manuevering my upper neck, spine to relieve pressure.  It seems to be helping.

You definately need to get it diagnosed.  It could be both CH and sinuses.

Hell, it could be all 3 of those things you mentioned.
