Many companies are now having open enrolment where you are able to change insurance options. I am considering switching to Kaiser HMO and am wondering if this will significantly change my coverage for Clusters. Last year I spent a lot of money on CAT scans, Imitrex, verapimil, indomician, topomax, oxygen, and lots of neuro visits.
Hopefully this year will be better but you never know. Any one know of any issues with HMOs? It sounds like there may be a limit on Imitrex. Bill |

I would push HR to help you talk with someone at Kaiser who can answer these questions. Between your HR and the Kaiser rep, they'll have details of the proposed plan and should be able to tell you what is covered and what isn't.
Good luck... -Dennis- |

My husband Jay is a 15 yr episodic and now is 5 yrs Chronic, we have had a Kaiser HMO for years and have not had any trouble . I guess every case could be different, however for us the PPO was too expensive to pay for the scans and meds. we dont come out of pocket for much and our meds are fairly inexpensive with a set co-pay. But speaking with your HR dept is always the best thing to do. good luck and PF days, Nichole
