Can you all please keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow? I'm back at the hospital for the results of the 3 weeks of intensive meds I've been on and I'm not that confident. I've been having a lot of cramps in my hands (low calcium sign for me) and I've been so so tired which I know is in part at least the pernicious anaemia but even so.. I have to admit I'm scared and I'm starting to be very scared I'm never going to beat this thing.

Well - I went in fighting anyhow! I walked into his office, held up my hand and said "Before you say ONE WORD I'd like to inform you that this is National No Bad News Day" He started grinning as soon as I started and by the time I finished he was laughing and said "Well if thats the case I'd better get my jacket and go home. You're my first patient and with a start like you the rest of the day is doomed!" (dunno WHUT he meant!!) Anyway, there isn't any improvement. There isn't any significant further deterioration though which I'm claiming as a victory! He says the extreme tiredness is as a result of the potassium deficiency as much as the anaemia but at least it isn't the new meds which was concerning me. I didn't have to have another x ray at least, he said my bloods didn't show enough change to warrant it which I'm delighted about as I'd already decided that anyway so would have refused. I'm bad enough without glowing in the dark! He also said something about how my blood and bone are both fighting for what calcium there is so I had better not go carrying any more loaves of bread (sarcastic git!) He passed comment on my rainbow bruises too. I had to remind him several times that it was National No Bad News Day. I think I need a new consultant with a better memory because quite frankly, he had some serious lapses in that department! ;) Anyway, I did stop abusing him eventually! So thats it, nothing outstanding but at least I'm not back in pokey with tubes sticking out of my wazoo again! Thank you all so much for keeping me safe lots of love Helen xxx |

I SWEAR! I am soo not interested in your wazoo! LOL>......... I am, however, happy at least to know you are none the worse........but we KNOW...the trick is to figure out how to make you more BETTERER!!!! Eat bananas, drink red wine, liver is supposed to help.......lots of spinach(excellent with hollandaise sauce) and nice warm bubbliebaths(in a padded bathtub so as not to bruise)......and LOTS of good vibrations from those who care about you.
