Title: Life does not end at 78
Post by Angie on Nov 13th, 2008 at 10:40am
My mother passed away 4 years ago this weekend. My parents were married for 50 years. My dad thought his life was over. He was very lonely even though he has been surrounded by family.

In the summer I was working in my office when I got a push to go the the service desk. When I arrived a frequent customer was there doing a return. She was telling the associate that she was 78 years old and she was lonely. Well there was my opportunity, I said to her "you are the same age as my Dad and he is lonely too." I asked her if it would be okay for my Dad to give her a call. She said, I have never done this before but here is my phone number.

They have been together ever since. A match made in Heaven. My dad and his lady are not lonely anymore. I have to leave messages for my dad because he is never home anymore. My heart swells when I see them together.

Wanted to share this with everyone, My dads life is now just beginning again.

This is a picture of Dad from last Christmas giving the Jonny Salute.

He always made funny faces at me to make me laugh. He still thinks I am a little kid.

Wow.....I love stories like that. :)
Your Dad will live a longer, healthier and happier life now that he's no longer lonely.  I truely believe that being lonely shortens the lives of our elderly widows and widowers.

You did good, Angie....... :)

Love ya,
Jackie

so cute. I had an aunt who was widowed in her early 80's. She was a real looker. That side of the family does not age. Anyways a couple of years later she met a man who was get this 90 and they got married, yes they did. Unfortunately he died a year later and she died shortly afterward. But it was a lovely thing in their twilight years. Why should old people be alone. It was so cute and endearing to see. Lots of blessings to your dad and his woman.
