Thanks everyone.  It's probably time for me to share a bit of what's going on.  That way the vibes and prayers offered can have a bit of focus.  Focus is what's needed right now.

I have a 17 y/o daughter named Aidan who is fighting a deep depression.  She has been fighting it for a while now.  Last night she was losing that battle.  Fortunately she turned to us in her hour of need instead of a bottle of pills.  After a very long night in the ER, we were able to get her to a good facility today.

Depression is hard.  Especially so when it hits someone so young.  She can't see the whole life ahead of her that their parents see.  But she knows we love her and, for now, that is enough for her to hang on to.

This is some of the hardest stuff I've had to deal with yet on this long road called parenthood.  I'm drained.  Both physically and emotionally.  But I feel your vibes and prayers.  I'll lean on them for a bit if you don't mind.

Thanks Barb for starting this thread.  Thanks Chuck for being there.  Thank you everyone else for reaching out.  You guys mean the world to me.

Sometimes kids get in some hard places.  

I wish all of them could have as loving and caring a father and mother as you two obviously are.  I'm sure Aidan will be just fine.

Dennis, the fact that Aiden turned to you for help, is a HUGE thing.  She's going to be alright.  I've been where she's at right now.  It's very hard to see any light when you're in a black hole that is so deep.

Oh, Dennis! How this must hurt! I am, however, soo glad Aidan came to you. In this forum, I have gotten to know just how much parenthood means to you, and what an amazing dad you must be. Aidan was smart. When the chips were really down, she went to the people who care the very most. Mom and Dad.......and they didn't let her down!
I hope, with time and more loving care, Aidan will heal physically, then emotionally, gaining strength from those who surround her.
For you and your wife, more love and patience and understanding.......and, vibes, all headed your way.
