Title: I Love This Bar!!!
Post by cynjeep89 on Nov 13th, 2008 at 7:13pm
For the last few days, the people mentioned in the article below have been robbing convenience stores and terrorizing the community wondering where they will hit next.

A friend of ours was jumped and shot on Tuesday night and we have a feeling these jerks were also involved in this crime.

About 3 miles from me is a bar named George's.  It's a tiny little place patronized by good people, blue collar workers but people who will stand their ground when threatened.

I bet these three thugs will think twice about trying to rob the people at George's again.  ;D

Bar patrons overpower robber

hree robbers chose the wrong place when they tried to knock off a bar early today at the Darley Road Shopping Center in Claymont.

Two men and a woman robbed the bartender and eight patrons of George’s Bar at gunpoint. But the customers then turned the tables on one of the bandits, knocking him to the ground and getting his gun.

The other two fled but were swiftly caught north of the state line in Pennsylvania, police said.

State police Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh said Darin L. Shelton, 20, of Rose Street in Chester, Pa., and his brother Rasheed G. Harris, 18, of South Pennewell Drive in Edgemoor Gardens, each were charged with nine counts of first-degree robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm during a felony, attempted robbery and conspiracy, and wearing a disguise during a felony.

Samon E. Smith, of West Ninth Street in Chester, Pa., was charged with three counts of attempted robbery, five counts of first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during a felony and conspiracy.

Bail information was not available.

Shelton and Harris also were linked to two recent convenience store robberies.

At the time of his arrest, Shelton was wanted in the Wednesday morning robbery at the Ridge Road Wawa, where he allegedly robbed the clerk and a patron, and a robbery at the 7-Eleven on Governor Printz Boulevard in Fox Point.

Whitmarsh said Harris was an accomplice in those robberies as well.

Yup, Jonny.  George's is like the bar in the video minus the cowboy hats.

Sorry, Barry. Forgot to answer your question.

Our friend, Rick is doing okay, thank goodness.

Rick is a sweetheart of a man.  He will walk from his house which is about a block from another local restaurant/bar, have a couple of beers and walk back home.  He's the kind of guy who will help anyone at anytime, kind of quiet but a good person for sure.

He was walking home Tuesday night and two jerks tried to rob him.  Surprises me that they picked him because he is a one heck of a big guy.  He was able to avoid being robbed but was shot in the leg and foot.

I used to work with his sister-in-law, Barb so I called her to check on Rick since we didn't have his phone number.  I was not surprised to hear that Rick hadn't called her to inform her what had happened.  That is his personality....very unassuming and doesn't want anyone to make a fuss over him.

Barb was able to get in touch with Rick and after she reamed his butt out for not calling her, he told her that he went back to work today....still limping a bit but "he has to earn a living" so off to work he went.  Gotta love a guy like that!!!!

Thanks for asking.
