See what you bailed on.

Temps in the 80's-90's.  Santa Ana's blowin with gusts to 70 mph.  Montecito burned last night.  Over 100 million dollar mansions burned.  Still going this morning.  Fire just broke out in the Santa Lucia Mts. on the north side of SLO town.

Gonna be a big fire day in Central & So. Cal!

You just know it's going to happen every so often! It's funny, I still get weather alerts via email for MB - this morning and it was showing 68 in MB & LO just before dawn.

Still enjoying walking through my thick pine forest up here in the hills every morning watching the Bobcats and deer - Oh, I filled up my truck yesterday for $1.86 per gallon  :)

Looks like the communications upgrade for your PV plant is on hold for a bit. I'm still gonna out that way though. I do miss the ocean, but not the big mortgage……..

Tell Sarah Howdy for me.

Montecito, Bob............I saw some of this decimation on last night's late news.........HUGE loss, and it seems to have not finished taking it's toll. So sad..........

Be careful out there..........and stay cool! 8-)

It is.  Safety first for the many, many firefighters.

Getting a little close to home with the Sylmar fire.  Mom lives up at the far end of Balboa Blvd., probably just a few hundred yards from the fire.  Thankfully they have built houses between her and the hills over the last few years so she's got a buffer zone.

When is earthquake season?

OMG! Don't even say that, Bob! We were in Valencia when the 94 quake rolled thru.......do you remember Balboa Blvd actually being on fire?? The gas lines ruptured.....of course all of this was old news by the time we got phone lines and freeways back up n running!
Lenny, be careful out there..........and Bob, just sell your house, ok?

Watching Montecito and Sylmar, and remembering..........Glad we moved to Oregon!

Starts tomorrow I believe.

Glad to hear your Mom has a buffer zone in place, I know the area. We lost a home in San Dimas to fire back in '98 - not fun.

When we first moved up to the end of Balboa (Ingres Ave. accross Balboa from Van Norman reservoir) the backyard was orange groves and the hills.  Wandered those hills with my BB gun many summers.

Balboa didn't go through to the 5 freeway yet.  When they were cutting it through, my friend and I found the keys hidden on one of the graders one night and took it for a joy ride.  Ah youth.

Good Grief...these fires are popping up everywhere.  Interstate 5 and the 210 are closed.

My daughter lives in Pismo Beach abpout a block from the ocean.  She says if it gets bad there she'll go jump in the water.  ::)

Two of my kids live in Riverside County and are having black-outs and of course heavy smoke, and my oldest son lives VERY near the Sylmar fire and can't even get to work tomorrow due to the interstae being closed.

All you Californians know what comes after all the fires are out.   MUDSLIDES!

Yep, Fires, Santa Ana winds, mudslides and earthquakes...California is a great state to live in ain't it

I was watching a bit of cable news this morning and couldn't believe how the reporters didn't even have any protective eye gear on with all the cinder ash flying around. :(
