I'm happy that you're happy, Charlie, but you can have my share of the lake effect.  I put up with it for 48 years in Cleveland and nearly froze to death. 8-)

Lake Effect Sucks  >:(  We are under a Lake Effect Warning until 1am here.  I couldn't believe it when I got up at 6:00 and saw about 8 inches of snow on my deck.

edit to add:  it's still snowing like a beeeoch here  >:(

I should have let you know, Charlie.  A half day of nice huge flakes blew through here yesterday.

Evening brought black ice on the roads and drivers had their first encounters.  On four wheels, it's not like Peggy Fleming doing figure eights.

What I wouldn't give for a substantial snowfall.   It rarely snows here-  lucky if we get 1 snowfall a year and even at that it is melted by noon.  My kids have only been sledding a few times ever!!!   The only time it snowed here last year, I was in Florida at a conference  :'(

I grew up in the philadelphia area where we had just enough snow to have some days off of school and some good sledding.  My husband lived in Vermont for many years and misses the snow terribly.  Last year he bought parts to make a snowmaking machine and we used that some ( if the weather got below freezing- which was maybe a few days here and there)

Enough of the complaining though-  there are some real positives to living here too-  I can go boating in april and actually swim in the lake in early May ,  and of course if we ever really do get a strong forecast of freezing rain or sleet ( which is more likely than likely)  school will be cancelled!!!

thanks for the pictures.

Well, it's 22 here early in the morning and more snow every day for some time to come. This much snow all at once in November isn't usual. We always get some and hope for a white Thanksgiving though.

It's supposed to freeze all over the east and into the south this morning....even parts of Florida. Let us know.

You can swim in our lake too in May if you're a Polar Bear Club member  8-)

Keep your shovels waxed.
