Title: Hey Mel and everyone.... Post by Redd on Nov 19th, 2008 at 5:54pm
Dyl starts training right after Thanksgiving for the new job at Figi's.
Whoot!! Wonder what it would do to my UE to work there part time over the season myself? |

Congrats to Dylan but I have to ask (my Canadian ignorance is showing) but what the heck is a Figi's? I'm guessing a restaurant, but what do I know! ;)

congrats Dylan!
Pegg, you would have to ck with your UEI, and how your state handles if you work pt..............Here in NY, you could work, but your UEI would be lowered..................... like say, you are collecting the max in NY which is $405, if you would work PT, say 2 days, and did not make more than that $405, you could still collect the other 3 days of UEI...............and then if you worked somewhere for the season, and they let you go, you could continue collecting. Here we get 26 wks, and can apply for a 13 wk extension, which our Gov.just approved in July2008(I am ready to file for the extension!) It basically sucks, for the jobs out there are few and far between, and not high paying........................... |

In know what you are saying. verything that is open here I'm either way too over qualified for, or it's medical or IT/Networking stuff. Not at all qualified for. I don't know what to do or where to go from here. |

yuppers!! me 2!!
i went on an interview 2day @ a Tasting Room/Wine Cellar, in an awesome, cool village about 1/2 hr from me........I met with the owner, as well as his sommelier. I was there for 2.5 hrs, for the last 1.5 hrs tasting wonderful obscure wines from countries like Croatia, Austria, Turkey, Morocco! It was a blast! I know alot about wines, I have areal passion for them, however, the PASSION DOESNT ALWAYS PAY THE BILLS! I KNOW they want me to work with them, however, I doubt what they offer me will be worth it! I will wait & see what happens! If nothing else, it was a fun afternoon! Keep the faith, Pegg! Something will come your way soon! deb |

Hey Deb,
If everything goes well and they pay you what your worth, ask them if they have considered having regional marketing reps to help them distribute their wines to some of the finest Restaruants in the Wisconsin Region. ;) |
