Anyone know how to get rid of this thing completely?
My Avast antivirus has cornered the sucker and got rid of the main elament of it, but there are still files. The remaining files will not let me update ad-aware or spybot or CC cleaner. The fucker shut down my Zone alarm. When I googled this it sent me to its own bogus links, I downloaded (what I thought was Bitdeterrent) and all my rig would do was cycle reboot. I started in safe mode and restored.....thats why im able to get here. Ueli!!!!!....Where are you? :-* Edit to add: I have no idea what this thing does, so if you get an email from me......Delete it! ;) |

If you have this in your virus chest, delete it. Then do another boot scan, and keep track of the corrupted files. Delete them. Do a search on them, some will not be easily found.
Find Bitdeterrent, and uninstall it. Do one more boot scan to make sure you got the files gone, and don't quarantine anything else Avast finds, just delete it. You should be ok after that. |

If that fails after scanning the computer completely just unplug it! Normally I would never recomend this but some virus write to ram on boot up and to the hard drive on shut down. This prevents you from detecting them with a normal virus scan. AFter the machine has sat off for ten seconds or so. You can boot it back up and rescan it one more time to make sure it is clean. You may want to try updating all your antivirus / antispyware programs before this scan. If that fails, find your windows xp cd and back up all your personal files, reformat the drive and scan your files prior to copying them back to your harddrive. I hope this helps.

I’m sure the virus software companies are secretly funding the plethora of crap out there.
Why would so many people be doing it just for kicks? I’m with Jimmers on this one, time for Vlad the impaler. :D Rolo… |
