Just ordered the generic 6mg injection for $15.  This is just 1 -6mg shot.  I have UnitedHealthCare and this will be my price.  It was $145 for 2- 6mg shots of the non generic form.

I guess capitalism isn't dead after all :)

Just ask your local US pharmacist, that's what I did.
BTW, I have a hugh stockpile of the stuff and haven't had to use a shot in a year, but I couldn't turn down the deal.

Just picked up my generic Imitrex. Turns out that the dosage is exactly the same.  You get 2 - 6mg shots in the same injection system.  It looks identical!

When i read this post i went and seen i had 2 more refills till mid december so i thought of the stockpile i have now (6 shots ) and looked for expire dates 4 of the shots expired so i reordered a refill. i get there to pick it up but it wasnt the same. It was generic i think all the same ingredents but no imetrex labeling at all, when i told the doc i didnt want this kind he said there was no choice anymore imetrex has stop distrubution, has anyone eles had this or did he give me a line of shit, im currently on clusterbusters method and have not used imetrex in about a year or do i wish too, but with this CH i will never be without all weapons, has this happen to anyone eles?? What may have happened here is that your insurance won't pay for anything except generic unless otherwise specified by a doctor.

I just did a quick search and can find nothing that indicates the *real* version is not being produced.  However, I did find out where the generic is being produced, India.

Shit.. The orginal RX was for imetrex 6mg stat dose injectors. Being that it was the same script from last december the RX should not have changed.. I thought i seen a post here awile back with something simalir i just cant find it, any info will be great.. I still have not managed to speak with the right people i have antem blue cross, maybe i will know more monday. Let me know. Coach Bill

If there is no restriction on the original RX, they can substitute a generic when available.  I ran into a similar problem years ago.
