Written by Bluedog after 3rd CH this morning at 230am or so....  just ranting poetry, but I had 1 too many diet pepsi's.... blame it on the beast................................. arg!

My life on hold, it is clusters I’m told!
Pain so bold, I’m not young now I’m old.
I feel drained and afraid as day becomes night
Praying the beast stays away until light.

What did I do, if only I knew,
If I could just go back and undo
What exactly did I do to invite
This horror which is now my plight?

Two concussions and a severe neck sprain
Might this contribute to my agony and pain
It is now a condition waiting for the MRI
Will the test reveal truth or will it lie?

A cluster headache
Is a dark thief in the night
Robbing me of peace

The third one today
Steals my hope and strength away
Mental disarray

For 25 years I enjoyed my morning diet soft drink.
My substitute for coffee I looked forward to daily.
Now that it has become my ch abortive method
The taste has become odd and medicinal. Damn!

I have learned the steps of the dance in shadows
Pacing in the darkness ready to climb the walls
Wrenching me from the comfort of my slumber
The beast claims his partner for the midnight ball.

With one tap on my soul, I am engaged for the brawl,
Dancing out of control until the beast becomes tired
Then slowly I am released, drained and scorned
Joyful to be released from the command performance.

I am still in my first circuit, the very first round
Waiting for my head to ache, throb and pound
Nothing compares with this dreadful fight
That arrives without warning most every night.

Come to my dance, I’ll bring the favors…
I’ve got ice picks and head vices and much much more
I’ll climb into your skull and wriggle with gore
While we dance together, you can keep score!

The bliss of an aborted headache is soon to be
Overshadowed by the nocturnal beast’s pounding
Get up and dance again, your music is playing aloud
Maybe in a while I’ll let you return to your cloud.

:o i fully intend to write some suitable for jokes and funnies....  it just wasn't in me early this am!

Great words, I have only said this a few tims, I love my remission but if i could i would take a hit for ya to give you break, but i cant so keep up the fight!!! Coach Bill

Bluedog, I've had CH for 20+ years and one of the things I found is that one of my triggers is Citric acid. This is contained in Pepsi and other soft drinks, so I switched to Coke that does not have Citric acid.

Just a suggestion as this may be a trigger for you also. I have discovered many things that contain citric acid and now avoid them while in cycle. Of course we are all different and this may have nothing to do with your case.

...and thanks to you Don also... doesn't seem to matter whether i abort with diet pepsi or diet coke, both seem to work well for me....

on we go hoping this first cycle is gonna end soon!
