Title: school
Post by chris420 on Nov 24th, 2008 at 6:04pm
i spoke to my financial adviser at school today. here is some crazy shit, she has a friend that suffers too! she said 3 weeks after my cycle started, his did.
so she fully understands the demon. anyways, she told me she is gonna "pull some strings" to get me back in school because my GPA was 1.5. it should be a 2.0. so her and the dean are pulling for me. it feels so fucking good to have people finally undrstand the deamon, like the administrators at my school. i now definatly be attending classes for spring semester. she promisd it will happen. and then i got an offer for a job from my resume on carrer builder for an assistant to the VP. they called and said they liked my resume. LIFE FUCKING ROCKS!!!!
glad i got through that cycle!! 8-)

Chris:

I'm glad you've turned a corner and life is treating you better!  It's nice to have people pulling strings for you too.

Wishing you well,

Ray

Hmmm…. Bong hits = 1.5 GPA? It sounds like you are the one stopping yourself somewhere in this “High” schooling thread?

Glad to hear your cycle is over and PFW’s

So, are you saying that the cluster headaches are the cause of your poor grades?  I'm curious though, most schools will put you on academic probation the first time you fall below a 2.0 (been there done that, partied too much and didn't give a damn).  It's only the second time you fall below a 2.0 that they suspend you.

BTW, what's your major?

Post by chris420 on Nov 25th, 2008 at 10:09am
no im not saying that. i didnt really apply myself kpt partying too much. but ive grown in the last year and my financial advisor told me this is my last chance. she said i need to have A's or B's. im doing my core classes right now, but i think my major is gonna be buisness. time for a legal hustle.

I’ll give you an “A” for this post, you get a star for grammar improvement!

Chris - I do understand how that was for you. More than a lot of others I dare say.

My son was diagnosed at the age of three and has already had 4 cycles and one due - he's just turned 7 years old.

He has a reading age of an 11 year old and the vocabulary of a lawyer LOL He doesn't let CH hold him back. I hope to God he never does.

Good luck with getting your grades back on track
Helen

Well, Sweetie.....ya might want to think about getting on with it just a bit.  We all have to 'man up' in this old world....ch or not.  There aren't any real Peter Pans out there.

I'm more than old enought to be your Mother.  Seeing young people get their educations and do well is a real treat for me.  Having the opportunity to get a college education is much easier these days....grants, loans, etc.  Get after it and do well.  Time is wasting.

Good Luck!

Jackie

Congratulations, Chris!!!

That is AWESOME news!

Now, for an old man's input (I know, you don't want to hear some old geezer babbling on, but tough shit!  You ARE going to hear it!  LOL):  How about laying off the bong, and apply yourself more to the school?  You DID the party route.  Like you said, you are now 30.  Time to get this education out of the way.

You have already discovered what too much partying can do.  It would be too easy to just slide back into that groove again.  Just like fighting the beast, this is something that you need to "man up" to, too!

Have a HUGE party, once you get that important sheet of paper, with your degree.  Smoke yourself silly THEN, not while trying to get this education done.

I am not telling you not to have fun.  Just do it in moderation.  You need to concentrate on your schooling, your relationship with Kelsy, and your job.  Those things are enough to keep you fully busy, with out the lethargy that comes with the bong.

I have faith in you.  You CAN do this!

Congrats, again!

Chuck

Hey Chris, been monitoring this thread with much interest! My 2 daughters just finished up with college. They agreed the toughest part was achieving balance between fun and classes! (Fun being loosely defined as beer pong, beer bong, keg races et. etc. etc.!!)  As my oldest daughters dean told us on orientation night, there are 3 keys to success in college!
1: Go to class.
2: Go to class
3: Go to class

Chuck gave you some awesome advice, if you don't achieve modration you won;t go to class, go to class, go to class! You're 30, time to nut up and buckle down. (My favorite daddy advice!) Wishing you the best of luck.

Super! I can't wait for you to prove that taxpayer grants and subsidized student loans go to qualified individuals. Go kick some ass, bro! 8-)

I'm still curious.  You didn't even try to take your finals?  I thought that would result in an *incomplete* (at least it has in most of the colleges that I know about).

Sorry, guess I don't think that's *cool*, for whatever reason.  I guess I can't fathom why partying too much should be an excuse for failure.  There are students out there (my daughter being one of them) who have fought like hell against their own problems to maintain not just decent grades, but have fought to excel in their chosen fields.  IMHO, you should just suck, it up, lay out a semester, get a grip on what you really want and then go back to school.

Post by chris420 on Nov 28th, 2008 at 6:53pm
if i dont go stright semesters, i will have to start paying back my student loans now. and so you know, i dont party too much. this is th 1st semester out of 4 that ive had to take off for CH. so before you make accusations, ask. i also work a full time job when not in a cycle. the dean is being understanding with me and trying to HELP me reach my goals. i am very srious about school. before i had to take off school i had the chance to build a relationship with the dean of my school. lucky for me i guess.

You, youself, are the one who said that you partied too much.  Plus, you don't get kicked out for screwing up one semester.  It takes more than one.  How do you keep your loans with that GPA?  All Federal grants and loans require a minimum GPA of 2.0.
