Title: Car Lovers Out There? Post by MITYRARE on Nov 25th, 2008 at 3:04pm
After reading Linda's post regarding her move and the need to sell her beloved car, it seems there are many car enthusiasts on this forum.
Please post pictures or stories of your past, present, or future hobby cars. Someone be brave and please get this thread started...it could be fun! |

I may not be able to remove it but I sure can modify it
[at least for now anyway]. So, now the ability to remove one's own post has been eliminated? ::) |

I thought the title of the thread was "Cat Lovers Out There?" ROFLMAO.
Oh well - as long as I'm here...... Gary's first car was a 1974 Trans Am. It was the only year Pontiac had a Chevy engine in it. It was a 454 super duty. The car itself was pretty much wrecked - burnt to hell. I don't know what happened, but that car (the car itself, not the make/model) was the pacer at the Indy 500. It was burnt completely out inside and needed a lot of work, but Gary completely fixed it up. He found banana yellow paint cheap, and that thing GLOWED. ;D Damn but it was hard not to constantly get pulled over in it. ::) I miss that car. Laurie |

OK, ok … You finally got me to post some pictures. These are not of my actual cars, but pictures I found on the web, of the year, make and model of the ones I miss owning.
My first baby: 1959 Chevy Impala Convertible. Mine was white, with red accents, and a red and white interior. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to ![]() ![]() My next honey (but not next car) was my 1965 Chevy Impala Convertible. When I bought it, it was white, with a black top. I did a full color change, and painted it forest green with a white top. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to ![]() ![]() A couple cars later, I started my long term love affair with British Sports Cars. My first was a 1969 MG Midget, bright yellow, with black interior and top. (By today’s pricing, my reasoning for buying this car sounds silly. But I had a 69 Ford Thunderbird, with a HUGE 400 something engine. I bought the MG, because it costs too much to fill up the T-bird with gas. It cost me a whole NINE dollars!) START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to ![]() ![]() My next love affair car was my 69 Plymouth Fury Convertible. It had the same color scheme as the picture. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to ![]() ![]() Now, the car that I never did own, but to this day would love to get, was Detroit’s prime example of excess, the 1959 Cadillac Convertible. Monster size. Monster fins. Monster chrome. And then those beautifully excessive and extravagant tail lights, up on the fins. Ahh, such beauty! START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! You need to ![]() ![]() Obviously, as a man that grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, and is now approaching 60, I had MANY cars. Several were memorable, but SO many were just transportation. If I had the money, I would be buying a new car every month or so. I would also have a fleet of them, that I would keep. My hero is Jay Leno. This, for me, was the ultimate driving machine. It lived up to every expectation I had of a street-legal super car. I put 126,000 miles on it and sold it to a guy in Dallas. I was happy to drive it to him to drop it off (Pismo Beach, California to Dallas, Tx), then I took a train trip home.
