Scott has written a letter to the Army to state that he did not want to have the surgery in Hawaii.  They have agreed to allow him to leave Hawaii to seek treatment.  He is coming here to go to Mass General  this week for a consult,  and then he will check into Walter Reed on Dec 8th.  I have no idea if they will allow him to have surgery at Mass General or at Walter Reed... Im still horrified.

He's coming back here for the surgery!!!!!!!!!!  That's FABULOUS news!!!!

So glad to hear he sounds so good.  :)  Keeping up the prayers - for all of you.

Ok he went to Mass General and got very good news... He was told that he can monitor this tumor because in the event that it presses on the auditory nerve and causes deafness.  He will be able to then come back and get surgery.  This doc from Ma Gen... Dr Barker also said that deafness is Scotts WORSE CASE SCENARIO... Before we were told that he would definately be deaf from the surgery.  Now they are saying that isn't true either.  He will have constant hearing exams to be sure it isnt happening and MRI's every 3 months.  
He still has to go to Walter Reed on Monday...  and see what they say.  His career is unsure but now we know that he will be around for his kids and can ride out this thing because it may never grow.  
The doc said if he wasn't a pilot he would say lets do it... but that might end his career in itself...
Scott came back so relieved, slept like an angel... went out with his brother and celebrated.  It has been so nice to have him here... This morning I had all my kids together laughing and kidding around it was fun...
Keep up the prayers I do believe they are working...
