Phil got a packet in the mail on Friday with his appointment for the U of M Headache and Neuropathice Pain Clinic.  His appt is on March 9th.  He's going to be seeing Dr. Cooper.

I know that it's still a few months away, but I'm pumped to know that he finally has an appointment.

Congratulations!  I know how hard it is to get some appts. and then to have to wait!  At least now, there's something to look forward to.

I'm confident that this appointment will be much more productive than the last few at the VA neurologist.  It is most definately something to look forward to.  I know that Don (Skyhawk5) has gone there and has had some success.  

All I'm hoping and praying for is someone that will listen and hopefully but us on the right track for some pain and sleep management.  Phil really needs some sleep.

Hi Audre.  I'm trying to get Phil's appointment date sooner than March 9th.  I'm going to call the U of M tomorrow and plead his case.  If it ends up being in March we should try to make plans to meet up for lunch.  I'm pretty sure that Don (Skyhawk5) and possibly Just Plain Carl are going to try to meet up with us.  The more the merrier I always say.

For my first appointment, I had to wait 3 months too.  When I called to see if I could get a sooner date, they said all I could do was call in and see if there was a new opening.  She said to go ahead and call a couple times a week if I wanted and they only get a few openings, which go quick. My appointment's not until 3 but it takes me 2.5 to 3 hours to get there.  

You must not live that far away from us.  It takes us about 3 hours to get there.  Our appointment is at 9am.  If our appointment stays as it is I think we might leave Sunday afternoon and spend the night somewhere close.  I sure don't want to get up at 5am to get on the road by 6am  ;D

I sure hope you get an earlier appt!  Program that number into speed dial!
