Title: For my daughter, Sarah~Updated 3 pm CST Post by deltadarlin on Dec 2nd, 2008 at 9:00am
A few vibes her way? This is finals week for her (she's finishing up her Master's and to this point has a 3.75 GPA) and she's really struggling. As some of you know, she has endometriosis. She's been through numerous treatments and none have worked for any length of time. The last one she was on, Lupron, produced every nasty side effect that you could have. Between the disease and medication, it's affected her ability to be productive in school (and life for that matter).
Tomorrow, she goes back to the doctor to discuss when they will do her hysterectomy (she's only 24 and this is her only option left). Needless to say, this scares the shit out of me. Just a little something to send her way, please? |

My thoughts and prayers are on the way.
I had endo and had a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago tomorrow at the age of 28. I was diagnosed with it at 16. For me personally, it was an easy decision to make. I was so sick of being miserable every month for 7 days. Love, Jen |

Carolyn, hang tough, I'm only a call away ((HUG))
Sarah - you're so strong and so brave and I really admire you. Just hang in there for a little longer, you've done so well to come so far against such extreme adversity. You have more going for you than any other ten people I can think of. You can do this, I have faith in you. Absolute faith. I miss you both so much. I just so desperately need to be "beamed up and over" right now. Star Trek where are you when I need you?! lots of love Helen x |

Of course vibes and prayers going out to Sarah
for good grades but more importantly her health. I too had endometriosis. I had a partial hysterectomy on my 33rd birthday (6 years ago). It is not a easy decision but when you have the pain and side affects the decision gets slightly easier. I had my two daughters and tubes tied (no more c-sections). It was still a hard call to make. Luckily Billy was amazing in supporting me and letting me know that he loved me and that having a hysterectomy wouldn't change that. I don't know what your daughters situation is family wise .I pray it that everything works out for her. The one silver lining is no monthly visits from the p.m.s monster. In my case it was the every two-week visit. I so don't miss that and the pain went away. Please keep us informed on how Sarah’s doing .she will be in my thoughts. Minnie |

Oh Carolyn, I'm sorry it's come to this. I hope she finds some relief.
As you know Endo runs in my girls too. Though thankfully none have reached this point. What prayers I can spare are headed her way. -Dennis- |

I'm sorry to hear this news about your daughter, Sarah. She's so young to have to deal with all of this crap. Sometimes life is just damned unfair.
Hang in there and good luck. Carol |

How is Sarah doing Carolyn? I know how hard all of this is for her, especially as the poor girl just doesn't have any choice. She doesn't just suffer for a few days every month, it's daily. I don't know how she does it and continue to smile. That is one strong woman you've raised there.
Sarah if you see this, you're in my thoughts and it makes me smile. I hate what you're going through but I love that I know you. You enrich my life. lots of love always Helen xxx |

Weel, the surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, Dec. 10. Don't know what time yet. She has her pre-op on the 8th. Get this, Jimbo leaves to go out of town at noon on that day (Sarah told him that he should go ahead with the trip, that he wouldn't be able to do anything for her anyway) and will be gone until Friday some time.
The doctor has already told her that she will be in for at least three days, she should get out Saturday. During all this, I will have *custody* of her cat and the grandpuppy, which means that I will have to try and be in multiple places at one time (and we're not even considering work here), since there will be noone here to feed and take care of the animals. Anybody know a doc that's good at cloning who can do it quickly? |

And the news gets better. Jimbo's trip has been cancelled, so he will be here!
