Title: Christmas Trees! Post by Em on Dec 6th, 2008 at 8:26am
Hello all,
Today I went out and bought my Christmas tree. Just letting it settle for a few hours before putting the decorations on. Anyone got any pics of theirs up already? I'll post mine on as soon as it's finished!! Let's get in the holiday spirit. Em x |

Since we adopted Max, we'll need to test if a tree is going to survive, or if he's going to try to destroy it.
Due to allergies, I have to have an artificial tree here. If nothing else, We'll just go without a tree this year. |

Em,
I don't think we'll be having a Christms tree this year... :( Mom and I have been discussing about this topic for the past 10 years and so far, I've managed to talk her into getting a real Christmas tree. But, this year is different. She has firmly decided that no more Christmas trees at our house! That is a shame, because we have plenty of wonderful decorations, some of them are my grandmothers... :( So, I'll be posting a pic of my tiny artificial tree in some point. I've had that tree about 23 years now. I can't wait to see the wonderful trees you all will have! :) Sanna |

Good. The Christmas Tree thread. :)
I've always enjoyed seeing others' trees in past years, and I hope to see this thread expand over the next couple weeks. Best wishes to all of you in this season... George |

Buck (our new cat) trashed my tree (artificial) three times in less than 20 minutes, so that is not going to work out at all. LOL
We have a toy drive today called "fill a cruiser" in which the police will be set up at the three main retailers in our town, Zeller's, Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire Store. We have no kids of our own so I am heading out right now to buy two toys, one for a girl and one for a boy. I do this every year as it sure makes me feel good knowing that I helped a child have a gift under their tree for X-mas morning. :) I would like to see pics of all your X-mas trees as mine is back in it's box. :( |

Paul, I LOVE the huge nutcracker!!! Your tree is beautiful too. :)
Pat, I think that what makes a cozy, warm Christmas is a small Christmas tree in a small home. It's very pretty! :) Ok, since our tree isn't up yet, I took a pic of the candleholder that's amidst some garland I have on my partition wall. :) ![]() |

Hello!
Beautiful trees Paul and Pat. As promised, here's mine. Still have a bit to do in the house to get some ornaments up. For the first time, I also made my own wreath for the front door! OMG! I LOVE the bottle trees! Those are just awesome! I love ALL the trees posted! The soul, the spirit, the fragrance.Em,your wreath is wonderful too!!
Linda, howjado that thingie with the lights?? It looks like serpentine you threw all over the tree! We do that on New Years Eve, when we are home.....it looks soo cool! Last night, the Fire Dept came thru our neighborhood, all decorated with lights, horns and Christmas music blasting....I was like a kid! That was soo cool! We ran to the kitchen and bagged up a bunch of non-perishables, found some unwrapped toys, and took them out for them to take to less fortunate. now, I've gotta go BACK to Target and get Michael's gifts again.....the only things I cannot getr online.well, I could, but he is soo specific this year! Fri night, it's the Christmas Ships.........OHHH! I SOOO LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! Get ready, coz, I'm gonna fill this thread with pics!!! Christmas-crazed Cathi :D |

Well, like I said I was just messing around trying things out and I set the shutter speed to 3 seconds. Then I backed away from the tree. Hope that makes sense. |

Title: Re: Christmas Trees! Post by Melissa on Dec 10th, 2008 at 7:12am
rotflmao Marc!! We usually have 3 in our house for Christmas (all real) but because we have a 9 month old, we stuck with an artificial for the front room and one real one in the family room. Otherwise there'd be one in each young kids bedroom too (which if we did it this year, we'd have 4 trees).
Beautiful trees!! :) |
Title: Re: Christmas Trees! Post by Cathi_Pierce on Dec 13th, 2008 at 6:30pm
LOL>>Marc.Stacey is simply normal! In a usual year, there is a small tree in my kitchen, one in my master bedroom, one in the family room and one in each bath.... not to mention my Santa collection, Nutcrackers and...oh, and the main tree in my livingroom! This year, we are downsizing.... Gil put half the stuff in the "dungeon", to see if I could live without it!

LOL! OKEE DOKEE, Mel......remember, I'm on the West Coast.. it's under 50 degreees today.soo....the world has stopped! We are in for a huge strorm in a day or 2.....and the nights have been around 38....everything stops here when the temp;s that low.....then, once it snows, we run out, make a snowman, then run right back in, q uick as bunnies!!!
Really pretty to look at, but we don't drive well in it and we on this coast get frostbite below 50......... Time for a cuppa hot tea for me! Cathi :D |

We don't have a tree up yet, much to Guiseppi's chagrin. We're going out of town for a few days and when he gets back he can put it up. I won't be back til 23rd. But I just didn't want to leave my housesitter the extra work of cleaning up what the cat tears up all day. We'll post when we get it up. He tries out outdo himself every year with the "Biggest and Best" tree yet. God knows what I'll come home to!

Well, we put ours up tonight. We never put it up until right before.
Had our friends over this evening for dinner, and the kids put the tree up (as they usually do). I think they did a pretty nice job. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!! We have 9' ceilings, and I had to cut a foot off of the top. It didn't look that big when we cut it! LOL Sarah was with me when we picked it, and we liked the shape and took it.
