Title: Just let me introduce myself...
Post by jbird32275 on Dec 6th, 2008 at 9:35pm
Hi, I'm Jason. I'm 33 now and began having CH at 19. Although I didn't hear the phrase "cluster headaches" until about 7 years ago when my boss told me what I had. I've been reading on this site ever since but, I've never contributed - just shy I guess. I have benefited from this site and the good people here.

I'm coming close to the end of a cycle now (I think). It's lasted about 5 weeks. I'm going to try clusterbusting the next chance I get. I'm tired of this crap!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello...hello!

Hi Jason...

There is an absolutely amazing bunch of informed, compassionate, empathetic people here.  Thanks for introducing yourself.

Welcome.

Hi,  and glad that you decided to post and join the family here at Clusterville.

Was your boss a clusterhead?  I'm glad for your sake that he was able to identify your problem so that you could put a handle on it and investigate.

Have you found any meds that help you?

Nice to hear from you and looking forward to more posts from you.

Yeah, my boss was a clusterhead but had stopped having them years before. After he told me about it I started doing research on the condition. Then I spent years trying to find a competent doctor. Most hadn't heard of the condition and told me to take Excedrin Migraine. They never saw me again. Finally, I found my current doctor and he is very understanding (he suffers from migraines).

I use Imitrex and Prednisone. I have just started using O2. Unfortunately Prednisone didn't work this time.

Hi, Jason!  Glad to see you finally posted!  See?  It wasn't TOO painful, now was it?  LOL!

It was wonderful talking to you the other day.  I sure hope the oxygen works for you!  You have met one of the nicest, most compassionate members of this site, in person.  I am glad you got to meet him, and I look forward to when I get to meet you in the flesh!

PLEASE ask any questions that you might have on the oxygen usage or anything else.

I am glad that your cycle is winding down, and hope for a minimum 130 year remission.  Now you can devote more time to your wife and child!

Welcome out into the open!  (SHEESH!!!  Over two years onboard and FIRST post?   LOL!)  (Now THAT is what I call shy!)

Chuck

Hi Chuck. Yeah shame on me I should have posted sooner. The O2 is helping for sure and no nasty side effects.

Welcome aboard Jason. It's always wonderful to hear that a cycle is ending too.

Geeze. If you survive Chuck, you can handle just about anything.  8-)

Good luck with the O2 and stick around

Charlie

Welcome Jason,

Sorry the first person you meet is Chuckles, but...... don't judge us all by him... :)

Glad your cycle is almost over.

I can't believe you could NOT post for that long. I could NEVER keep my mouth shut that long! ;) It must be a guy thing.... ::)

Again, welcome to Clusterville... wishing you lots of PFDAN

Welcome to the nuthouse!  Glad you introduced yourself and come on board.  Give Tony a big hug for me.  I haven't gotten to meet him yet, but hope to.

Glad you have a boss that understands!  I didn't, and I was self employed! :D

Hi, Jason and welcome!

We can be a crazy bunch but don't be afraid (until you meet Chuck in person) ;D

How cool was it to meet Tony?  He is one in a million, isn't he?  Love and miss you, Tony.

Happy Birthday, Kirk.

I got the energizer bunny cycle. It won't quit. I'm getting 1 to 4 everyday for a week+. It won't go away; it's manageable but wtf! They usually drop off pretty quick.
