for my Grandma. I bought a 7" digital picture frame off eBay. It comes in a Dora box along with 3 inserts for the front of the frame of Dora and Diego and plain silver (I put the silver on), plus a little Dora animation (which I turned off). Anyway, I only paid $40 total for it (including shipping) and I'm setting it up for my Grandma for her Christmas gift.

Now the question, since it'll take me days to upload family pictures to my computer off of like, 100 discs (egads), I've decided for the meantime to put pictures of flowers on it for her (she loves flowers) that I'm saving off the net into a special folder just for her frame.

Now, would it be thoughtless of me to let her know I'll change out her pictures to family ones for her birthday in May? Even though it will give me time to gather together the special ones I want to put on there??

Looking at all the pretty flowers will take her mind off winter - with the promise of spring to come.

Telling her you're going to replace the pics with family ones a little later on is a good idea. Just my opinion.

I don't think it's thoughtless at all. It'll give her something for which to look forward.

I'd add a few family photos anytime I saw her though. Then she won't get bored with just flowers, but will have family popping up in between!

Ok, I mixed it up with some candid family shots & flowers that I took myself and already had stored, plus some of flowers off the net. I hope she likes it!!! :)

I think it is absolutely lovely.

One of my friends gave "Grandad" one of those a few weeks ago at a Christening with pictures of baby and apart from the joy he got from the photos, he was astounded by it and we all think he thought it was "magic" as he couldn't really quite grasp how it was done and how technology had moved on in his lifetime.

What a lovely gift, Mel. :)
I love Pat's idea......give her a mix of pictures.
That is what I have on mine and my Mother sat for hours looking at them when she was here.....over & over again.
She'll be so pleased!
