Carolyn/DeltaDarlin just called....
Sarah is out of surgery.  She did very well and everything went just fine.  Mama and Daddy are fine too but worn out and hungry.

Carolyn and Jimbo haven't seen her yet as she's still in recovery.  They are hoping to see her within a couple hours at most.

I'm sure Darlin' will update us further when she can.

Sarah's back in her room and not feeling to perky.  She's a bit pissed at me because I didn't tell her how bad it would hurt (it's kind of hard to remember what that felt like that 24 1/2 years ago when I had her by c-section).   Needless to say, she's in a bit of pain, but she's still got a bit of pi$$ and vinegar left and doesn't hesitate to let us know it~they left her ice chips because she can't drink anything yet.  I asked her if she wanted some ice chips.  Her response, " you're not supposed to eat ice, it's bad for your teeth"  ::).  That's my kid.

Jimbo's up there with her tonight and when I talked to him earlier, she was a bit nauseated and they were bringing her something for that.   Will update things as I can.

Right now, if my ass drags any more, I'll be shutting the door on it when I leave rooms.  Think I'll fix myself something to eat and try to relax a bit before I take Bella outside for her nightly jaunt.

I had 2 crowns and a root canal last year cause I eat too much ice. My dentist told me if if can't break this habit, wean myself with crushed ice. That won't hurt the teeth as bad. :)

I am glad to hear she did well with the surgery and hope she has a speedy recovery. My daughter in law is coping with the same issue and the doctor told her pregnancy would make it go away......

Talked to Jimbo this morning and she had a good night last night.  Whatever they gave her for nausea knocked her out for about 4 hours straight.  Jimbo said that she's awake this morning and didn't seem to be hurting too bad.  I'm going to work for a couple of hours and then I'll be heading back to the hospital so Jimbo can come home and get some sleep, take a shower and get back to feeling human.  I'll update everybody sometime later on today.

She will be standing up for the first time today, so, it might be a bit on the rough side.

Well, I got up there about 11:30 today and we made several trips up and down the hall.  I really think she might have overdone it, because she got to hurting pretty bad later on and she got nauseated.  She did eat a little solid foodm but not a whole lot.  Jimbo came back up around 4 after he put his truck in the shop (the old adage, when it rains, it pours seems to be our companion now.  As luck had it though, by the time he got down to the hospital, they called and it was fixed, so I took him to get his truck.  That is good, because Sarah was thinking that she might want a chicken wrap from Sonic later on (hospital food sucks).

Talked to the doc (who is a royal jackass and I will cheerfully chicken choke him if I ever get the chance) and he said that if things keep going well, she might get to come home tomorrow.

Well, I think I'll read a few more posts and then go wrap those Christmas presents that I've been meaning to take care of.

Still tired, but, what the hell, c'est la vie.

Sounds like Sarah's doing okay - but Mom is exhausted!  Carolyn - take care of yourself - there are others who can and will take care of Sarah.  You'll need to be more rested once she gets home and you're "it"!

Well, she was doing good.  I called Jimbo to check up on her and he said that she'd gotten real nauseated and had thrown up twice by the time he got back (and as some may know, throwing up with an incision and staple in your belly sure isn't fun).  They finally got another doctor (not doctor dickhead) and he upped her pain medicine and they put another IV in so they could give her medicine for nausea.

I'm thinking that she her lunch/snack might not have agreed with her and she may have pushed herself to hard.  At least I hope that's all it is, she wants to come home so bad.

Hell, coming home isn't too much *rest* for me when I have to play with Bella (she cries if I get out of her line of sight), walk Bella, feed Bella, feed the cats and the other dogs, yada yada yada  ;D.  At least I'm getting to sleep in my own bed (as opposed to Jimbo who gets to sleep in that damned uncomfortable recliner).

I'm still trying to get a little work in here and there too.  If Sarah gets to come home tomorrow or the next day, her boyfriend, Stu, will be staying with us to help take care of her.  I really won't be *home* to take care of her until the middle of next week when I actually start my vacation.  Luckily for me though, I have a very flexible job and a wonderful boss (the company is shat, but my boss is an absolute angel).

Oh, Jackie, when I told Sarah that the flowers were for both of us (kinda sorta), I got a resounding NO, they were hers  ;D.  Well, I think I'll go find Littleboy and see if he wants to cuddle a bit before I turn in (he's afraid of Bella and this has been extremely traumatic for him, especially since he hasn't gotten much lap time/one on one time with me.

Will update again tomorrow!

WAY TO GO, SARAH!!

We are home (actually, we've been home since around 10:30 this morning, but I had things to do and many rat killings to take care of before I could post).  She did really good on the ride home (without pain meds or anything).  She's on the couch right now, sound asleep~took a pain pill and a pill for nausea and they knock her out.  She's walking very good, didn't give in and start walking all bent over.

I'm actually trying to finish up some work and then I think I'll take a nap!
