Boiled Peanuts!![/b] I love boiled peanuts! Never heard of them either till I moved to the south 12 years ago. I like them hot though, not the kind you can get in can... just not the same. Melissa- they are peanuts in the shell, boiled in water - you can buy them by the cup( white styrofoam) in NC-, sometimes at a roadside stand, convenience stores in more rural towns at least around my parts- they are wet- the shell come off super easy and they are awesome. They sort of sound disgusting, but I'm telling you, they are great. Kelly |

Title: Re: Snack Food Post by LeLimey on Dec 16th, 2008 at 8:42pm
carrot sticks with "ordinary" fresh salsa
carrot sticks with corn and black bean salsa radishes celery and blue cheese Raw cauliflower and yes, I can eat a whole one! Sugar snap peas, raw again! a whole jar of pickled onions a whole jar of pickled beetroot red green or yellow peppers just quartered and seeded and preferable half a dozen at a time! Yoghurts dried pineapple, cranberries, blueberries and apricots - I like the "chewiness" ultimate "fat" snack - one of the onion bagels Patty brought me from NYC this summer with cream cheese on it. Now that is my died and gone to heaven treat! Luckily - I don't get them too often and onion bagels from anywhere else just aren't good enough! Okay that's it - time to raid the fridge! |

I do tend to eat healthy, but I never deprive myself either. I'm allowed one "bad" thing a week - and you know what that is...Dunkin Donuts. [smiley=grin2.gif]
And Jimi, what the heck is Fried Apple Pie? I also like pretzels, beer, and anything sour - jumbo green olives, greek olives, and pickels, to name a few. Now Jimi go "mimi" and don't bother me. Make sure Ruthie tucks the feet in. Hugs, Langa |

I dont like the Danish pickled herring on rye bread. Since I am from the good old USA I prefer Coca Cola and popcorn or a Slurpee but I have to take a bus ride to get those. Sure is worth it.

Title: Re: Snack Food Post by Linda_Howell on Dec 19th, 2008 at 6:46pm
I hardly ever snack but if I did it would be that warm, gooy stuff people make and put in a hollowed bread bowl. Sorry I don't know what is in it but it is absolutely the best comfort food of all time.
They take out the insides of a round loaf of bread, and save it. Then they mix up this concoction(ambosia) and put it in there all warm...and you take the saved bread pieces to dip in the contents of the bread bowl. Someone once made this at a party I was at and I stayed close to the table so no one else could get at it. LOL |

Linda, do you mean the sourdough bread bowl with the spinach & artichoke dip inside? Or the one with the crab & cheese? I've had different kinds that my sister-in-law likes to make. They're all good! :)

Title: Re: Snack Food Post by Linda_Howell on Dec 19th, 2008 at 8:26pm
Barry, that is what it looked like but I think Mel is right and it was spinach and artichoke and it was in a sour dough bread bowl. OMG...I am drooling. That you Barry for the recipe.
You are not off the hook jest yet Mr. Rolo. I know there was behind the scenes prompting from Pat due to what happened recently at MY local KFC. ;D ;D ;D |
Title: Re: Snack Food Post by Rolomatic on Dec 19th, 2008 at 8:39pm
Linda, that aint nothin new... when I worked there in 80-83 we had a girl who spilled hot shortening all down her side. Then she stripped down to her panties as we hosed her down with cold water...
Roland. :o ;D 8-) Add; she was OK folks, just 3D burns... :( |

I thaught you were refering to the SanJose bath in the sink deal. If not, please let me in on it. Pat had nothing to do with my comment.
