Title: Cluster Headache Song
Post by Frank_W on Dec 16th, 2008 at 7:45pm
Written/played/recorded by Yours Truly while in cycle, last year.

It's by no means professional caliber, but anyway, FWIW...

I wish I didn't exist
I don't want more pills to pop
There's a brain-crash in my eye
And I can't make it stop
Screams me awake at night
Fades out all my days
And it dogs my heels and makes me feel like blowin' myself away

Another cluster headache!
Count the minutes through the pain
Cluster headache!
A world war inside my brain
Cluster headache!
Suffer thrash and cry
Another cluster headache!
God please just let me die...

Pull myself along
Through another cardboard day
Everything is so surreal
Two dimensional and gray
Hammer hanging overhead
Just wait for it to fall
Like waiting to be shot at dawn as the demon start to crawl

Another cluster headache!
Curse the minutes through the pain
Cluster headache!
Super nova in my brain
Cluster headache!
There's no remedy left to try
Another cluster headache!
God please just let me die...

There's nothing left but an empty shell
There's nothing left but another hell
There's nothing left but to reel and fall
There's nothing left. I'm a broken doll

I wish I didn't exist
I don't want more pills to pop
There's a brain-crash in my eye
And I can't make it stop
Screams me awake at night
Fades out all my days
And it dogs my heels and makes me feel like blowin' myself away

Another cluster headache!
Count the minutes through the pain
Cluster headache!
A world war inside my brain
Cluster headache!
Suffer thrash and cry
Another cluster headache!
God please just let me die...

Great job. Well done and I love the imagery, especially brain-crash.

Thanks, Brian! :) The lyrics took all of five minutes to write, and I recorded it in one take.

Oh yeah... The rest of the music:

This is a major part of what's been keeping me so busy.... Some of the songs, I'm very pleased with. Others could use a little more work, but it's been a labor of love, trying to teach myself the finer points of multi-tracking, mixing, and teaching myself to play the drums, too.

I missed your poems, Frank.  God knows we've all felt this way.

BTW, your energy amazes me.  Drums?  So I gather you're a piano expert now?

Love,
Langa

Thanks, Langa & Sandy!!

Langa, I'm definitely no expert on the piano, but I have to divide my energies between piano, drums, guitar, bass, and everything else. I wish there were more hours in a day! All I can do is just keep practicing. From there, hopefully, everything falls into place. :) 8-)

How many instruments do you play?  Ever thought about getting something like a Korg?

Let's see... Piano, drums, guitar, trumpet, bass, and I sing sometimes.

For a synth, I've got an Alesis QS-8, and I usually do my piano, basslines, horns, and strings through that. It's easier, since it's all direct MIDI. I've got a USB interface that I plug my mics and guitars into. I have an Alesis DM5 drum kit, and that's also direct MIDI.

The room that I do all of this stuff in, looks like it could launch the space shuttle.  ;D

Thank you... Sorry to hear that it made you cry. I recorded the vocals rough. I wasn't trying to make a pretty song. By week 6 of my last cycle, I was running on absolute empty. I was so wasted inside. Writing and recording this song helped me to keep going. I honestly just wanted to die.

Hang in there.
