Well our wonderful Dog who is 10 years old Brownie passed away today. She had a heart attack. It has broken all our hearts. JD is really tore up.
We are having her creamated. We will get her back home in about 2 weeks.

She no longer is in pain and is with our other dog Taco now, they were best friends. That will get us by and her memory.

Oh Elaine, I am so sorry Brownie has passed!! :'(  I am just so thankful for the wonderful years she had with you though.

I am soo sorry you've lost Brownie. I still miss the dog I lost 14 or so years ago.
The bright side is, Brownie is watching over you, playing with Taco and as you said, out of pain.....that's something, E.

I'm sorry, E.....sorry for you, Buddy, Deveny and little JD.  The loss is hard enought but when you see a child heartbroken it's worse.

Remember what I told you.  Brownie and Rocky are having fun and talking about how silly we are to mourn for them.

Thanks guys...we do know she is better off. Telling JD was the hardest thing.
I am so mad at my now old vet. We take all our dogs for yearly check ups. They kept saying that Brownie had Thyroid problems. I took her in a few months back and told them I thought she was having heart problems. They asured me I was wrong and that she was needed more Thyroid meds. I should have changed vets right them. Yesterday evening she started pantting a lot. She had been drinking a lot of water. I had a vet appointment with a new vet for tomorrow.
Well today she got worst. She is a inside dog and can't stand the heat. This morning she wasn't on our bed as always, she was laying by her water bowl. She went outside like she always does. Then she came back in and wanted me to pet her. I did and she went back outside and layed down by the swing. Something she did not do. I figured she just wanted to get cool. The sun came up and it started getting warm so I went to check on her. Her toung was turning white then blue again. I rushed in called Buddy and he came home. Took her to the new vet. They said she was in the late stage of heart failure. That she would not last till tonight. We choise to have her put to sleep. Buddy and Deveny was with her and it was a peaceful departure for her.

JD took it very hard and when Brownie left for the vets office, JD told her how much he loved her and kissed her good-bye. JD looked at me as they drove out the drive way. He said " she is going to heaven isn't she nana"? I replyed Yes JD I think God needs her for a child in heaven and I think she misses Taco. He cried and cried hard. Buddy and Deveny had to take some time to themself before coming home.
When they got home we all four cried some more.

I think we are all ok the best we can be. We do know Brownie is no longer in pain. We found a good new vet. Buddy liked him much better than our old one.

It happing at Christamas sure isn't good. I need to go and remove the toy we bought her for Christmas. Its under the tree. Yea even my animals have Christmas gifts.

Oh Lady, my heart goes out to you and your family.  Cisco will be there playing with Brownie at the bridge too.  It is absolutely devastating when you lose a loved furry member of the family, they leave such an empty hole.  I'm glad you found a new vet that you like, that is so important.  Our vet even sent us a card of condolence after we lost Cisco and everyone at the office signed it, a small thing that can make all the difference.

What he said! I am sooo sorry for your loss. I was sitting in the doctor's office today thinking about my Emily. She was born Dec. 23rd many years ago. She was my Christmas gift, a promise that we would be getting a puppy when we found just the right one. Little did I know, she was there waiting for us. She left us almost 2 years ago after a wonderful 12 year life. I cried my head off and said never again. Less than a week later we had a deposit on a new 4 week old golden. I still think back about how much I miss Emily but Maddie has filled a void that was huge! Everyone is different though. I just know for me this was very helpful. Again, I am so very sorry. Tell us more, what kind of doggie was Brownie?

It hurts so much, and I'm so sorry you all are going through this.  You know for sure that Brownie had a very love filled life and that's so important.

I can hear them all now........"One of my family had clusterheadaches....OH, so did mine".  Now our little furry friends have a special bond too!!

I am so sorry for your loss Elaine and family.  I know how much you loved that dog and remember lots of stories you used to tell me about him when I first came to ch.com.  I am so glad that he is in a much better place now and is not suffering.
