Title: Light sensitivity - funky tint
Post by ivanov on Dec 22nd, 2008 at 11:43pm
If anyone is as light sensitive as I am you might
want to check out this color filter for headaches.
I have tried numerous colored tints to try to deal
with the light problem but this is the first filter
that actually worked. I became really light sensitive
when I injured my cervical spine.
The only downside is the funky tangerine color
but I can deal with looking like Elton John as long
as I don't have to worry about pain shooting through
my eye.

Here is an article about the filter plus where it can be
acquired if your eye care professional hasn't heard about it.

I have heard of that for other eye problems but never for clusters.

My doc wanted me to try using red tinted glasses, or contact lenses, said it would help my migraines. Never heard of it for CH.

I couldn't afford it at the time, so I didn't do it. I do get light sensitive when in high cycle. Maybe get a piece of colored acetate to look through?

that sounds yummy...I don't use glasses, but I'd go around like Buddy Holly if it would help my light sensitivity.  :-[

Photosensitive migraine [can be proved with an EEG trace] yes but NOT for CH.

I have a pair of prescription coloured irlen lenses thanks to the regional neurology clinic and eye hospital, works for ordinary migrianes and allows me to study for a bit longer  but cluster headache...the idea of being able to wear glasses at the same time.............. :-X

No.

My glasses have been blue-tinted from the time I was 11. My pedi-neurologist reccomended it for my migraines.

The reason being, florescent lights flash, you generally don't notice it, but they do it anyways.

The blue tint is supposed to prevent those flashes from triggering a migraine. I can't be without my glasses in the first place... I can't see for shit.

It hasn't effected my CH either way. No worse, no better. Because most of the time, my glasses are off during a CH so I can rub my head. (and so I don't damage them while headbanging.)

Under: Same way here. It fucking sucks.
