Title: A Christmas miracle(update)
Post by vietvet2tours on Dec 25th, 2008 at 10:11pm
My two year old grandson Timothy has been  in very critical condition for quite some time as a few of you know.  Yesterday he received the new heart that we have been praying for.  Thanks for all the prayers that were so freely given by my friends on this site.  I'm sure they helped  more than we know.
This is the best Christmas ever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Timothy has been sent home from the hospital and will make a complete recovery. Thank you for praying for him and the donor.
Thank you over and over .

Potter, I should have said this to you earlier in a PM...

So I will say it here.

As much as all of us praying and hoping Potters grandson's body accepts this heart....I'd like us who pray.. to offer up a few for the child who donated. And his wonderful family who made that heart-breaking decision.   :'( :'( :'(

For once I was right  ;).  I told Potter Christmas Eve was the time for miracles. And I agree with Linda, a family somewhere is now grieving the loss of their child.

happy dancin' darlin

PS If you are able, please be an organ donor (I would, but Hep B took care of that).

Wonderful news Potter.  We'll be praying for both your grandson and the family of the donor.  I hope the good news about Timothy is able to assuage their grief to some extent.  I know God understands their pain, and Christmas time is the time that expresses the gift the most.

I must have been out of the loop on this.  Sorry I didn't know about Timothy before now.  We'll definitely add him to our prayer list.

God bless.

Jerry

What great news, Potter.

I'm assuming that little Timothy will have to take anti-rejection drugs the rest of his life. These drugs supress the natural immune system, which make being in a crowd situation a bad idea.

If he ever gets down about it, tell him with the proper documentation, he gets to go to the front of the line at amusement parks.

One of JrBrew's dearest friends received a new liver at age 4.  Looking at him now (at 17) you'd never know.  He takes his anti-rejection drugs faithfully and is careful about being around sick people (chemically suppressed immune system), but otherwise he's a normal teenager.

Your grandson has a beautiful future ahead of him!

That is a Christmas gift that will last the rest of Timothys life.  I'm going to say more prayers for the almost impossible act of generosity of the donors family.

That had to be the most heart-wrenching decision they have ever had to make.

I can't even imagine the joy in your family right now Potter.  Get that car all cleaned up so you can take him for a ride in it soon.
