Of all times to come down with the flu >:( Damn!
I shopped for weeks, prepared food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, baked, wrapped until my fingers nearly fell off and then WHAM.....got sick on Tues. night. Sure glad I had the flu shot this year :-/ I couldn't enoy any of the celebrations and wasn't even able to hug my grandsons.... :'( I'm still sick as hell but don't even care now.... >:( Bah Humbug.... NOt much that I can say to make you feel better! At least now you can relax a bit and get better (when you feel like death warmed over, the only place to go is *up*).
Unfortunately the flu vaccine does not protect against all strains of the flu. As you well know, drink plenty of fluids and rest. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery (and remember, do NOT get up and get after it the first day you're feeling a little better, relapses are nasty buggers to deal with). huggin you from afar 'darlin ps This is the 4th Christmas that Sarah has been recovering from surgery, so I'm sure she feels your pain (I didn't know it until I got home, but she was by herself on Christmas day :() |

Oh Jackie, I am so sorry!!!! It definately is a kick in the gut to get sick on an important Holiday. :(

Ok, here's the good news....... you can stay home and watch old movies and drink tea, and eat chicken soup, Jacks. Then, when you're feeling better, you can have a do-over with the grandkids!!!
Today, stay wrapped in blankies and catnap-can ya do that? When you're feeling better, I'll tell you about my first-ever family-less, never got dressed, who cares.and by the way, the dishwasher broke....Christmas...damn snow storm mucks EVERYTHING! But I won't tell ya till you're feeling better.......... cccold cccathi :D |

Aw geez Mom, I'm so sorry you've had to suffer this miserable viral invader. It seems Ayden and I managed to pass it on to the rest of the family here as well, I expect my family will be glad to see us go since the present we have left them with is the flu.
I'm sure one of these times they will actually get the RIGHT strains in those damn flu shots and none of us will have to suffer the misery. Have Blake make you some of that FABULOUS chicken soup and some cobbler :) :) :) Now, you just curl up with a blanket and rest and get yourself to feeling better. Sorry Jackie! My son Michael had the same thing happen to him. We were at our eldest son's in-laws for a Christmas dinner and he spent most of the evening in the bathroom. :( At least you willhave it behind you for Louiscon.

So sorry to hear this!! I hope by now you are starting to feel a bit better!! Jason and I both got the flu a couple of weeks ago, and it was pretty horrendous. Both missed work for 2 days, and I've got no sick time and Jason doesn't EVER miss work!! I had a flu shot, too - but to no avail, this year. :( Hope you're able to keep down some fluids and maybe rest and relax. I know it sure sucks not feeling well on Christmas.
