Interesting reading for anyone living with a chronic disease.

I loved it - I've never thought of any chronic illness in that way.

Now I will, and will cherish anytime someone gives me a "spoon."

Cyn - what an awesome gift you've given us by sharing that article.

Hopefully I'll always remember the "spoons".

Thanks

Thanks!  Excellent analogy.  I sent the link to Linda.  She can use it for people with questions about her MS.

Thank you Cyn for sharing this article.  I'm printing it for my husband.  He has CFIDS, which is now being considered like a form of lupus - not fatal, thank God.  But the symptoms can be awful.  Sometimes he's fine, a lot of times he's in "relapse" mode.  I could see the buckets of sweat on his skin, while he has chills.  Pain in his joints, always pain in his abdomen.  All I can do is lie with him and hold him close when he has chills, until he falls asleep, and then I have to take a shower because I'm covered in his sweat.  Then he has to sleep for 2-3 days at a time.  I run his businesses along with his partners and just try to make sure he's comfortable, until he's over the relapse - weird thing is as sick as he gets, once the relapse is over, he has the energy of 5 people.

He's had this illness for 15 years and some of his family still don't get it. (sound familiar?) - I'll be emailing this to them as well.

Thanks again.

Love,
Langa
