So, I had a small package to mail off to a friend today.  I drive down to the Post Office.  Arriving to the middle of downtown, I find that each and every parking space is taken on the first trip around the one way streets.  All of it parallel parking with window high snowbanks and ice.  

So being the lawful person I am, I drive another 1/4 mile to get around the one way's again and find the front space in line.  The one just before you see the " NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER" sign.  

I go into the PO and stand in a very long line and after my turn is over I go back to find that I'm parked in.  Some duffus parks in the no parking zone.  Half the Jeep Grand Cheokee 4x4 is in front of that sign and half of it behind it.  And in such a cocheyed manner that I couldn't move forward at all.  The car behind me was too close for me to pull back and get around.

There was a gal in the passenger seat.  Yes she saw me.  I motioned to her to please get in the driver seat and move that truck.  She ignored me.  

Just as I'm ready to get out and go to her window, a man walks up, opens her side door.  He leans in and gets something out of the dash or glove box, I'm not sure.

Now if this weren't bad enough.  He backs out of the door, closing it and starts walking back to the PO.  I honk the horn at him and point to the sign.  He ignores me.  I roll down the window and say "Please move so I can get out."  He shoots me a silent glare and keeps walking.

The woman in the truck continues to sit there with her head down as not to see me in the mirror.

Lucky at just that time the car behind me gets it's driver and pulls out shortly after that...leaving me with the ability to back up and pull away.  




Ok...I'm done venting for now.  There are just some real dinks in this world.

Silly me....and here I thought all the  dinks were in California.

Seems he passed the opportunity to let you out and back into your nice legal parking space.  Alternative happy ending would be for him to get one of those fancy expensive parking tickets, then realize he should have let you out for your space.    Wishful.

I too though of that possibility.  However, this was also just at the time the PD dept. has their "changing of the guard".  

Oh well...kharma will find it's way back to them.  Of that I have no doubt.

i pulled into a walmart out in missouri and as you may know many walmarts are getting to the point where they don't want semis parked in their lots. well i parked on the side street walked in, and bought my groceries. there were about 20 or so trucks parked there and this one truck was parked with the ass end of his trailer blocking one lane and half the other, and he had his windshield curtains pulled back like he was sleeping. the security guard was directing traffic around the the truck and i asked her if she had knocked on his door. she had knocked on his but he didn't answer. so i went over and beat the hell out of his door. finally he answered and i said "hey half your trailer is blocking the road and you need to move". he rolled up his window and pulled his curtain back. by this time there was 5 trucks were trying to get through and they were walking over to this truck. i told the other drivers that this guy refused to discuss reparking his truck with me and they all started beating on his door, and standing on his fuel tanks rocking his cab, and yelling a few choice works. needless to say the guy moved his truck, and the security guard thanked us.

its this kinda stuff that keeps us truck drivers  out of places were we need to be. truck driving used to be a respectable profession.  :-/

You've struck on my pet peeve - rudeness. I won't even admit to how far I've gone out of my way to be sure that the rude person felt the Karma........ Sometimes forcefully, sometimes with a stealthy flair  ;)

By the same token, I also go out of my way to acknowledge even simple, common courtesy.

OMG....I love that they did that.  Retribution at it's finest.  Couldn't you have taken down the license plate number and reported him to whoever he was driving for?  THAT would have been icing on the cake.

i dunno theres this wave of new drivers who get their directions from a computer. they don't figure out their route. their not allowed to get out of route, the companies know where they are 24/7.

allot of these guys get into trucking and do it for about 6 months or a year and quit. then they just rotate some other idiot into his seat. and they don't care about our image as professionals. these are the fat sweaty guys walking around in flip flops and cut off sweat pants. we call these guys steering wheel holders. they key up on the c.b whenever a lady driver gets on there and says tuff like "were you at baby doll" "you sure do got a sexy voice"
idiots!

then theres the old school truck drivers that get satisfaction out of grilling the guys with bad attitudes.

doesn't have anything to do with age it's all attitude. show some respect for people around you. it's not hard to do.
