It was just yesterday he was still little Jimi, the big brother I never had. Now, with his new keys to the wisdom kingdom, we move from headlocks, half nelsons, and his hand-me-down Blue Moon cologne to sitting at his feet awaiting the sage secrets of life when we were just 48 states. How did we barbeque without colorful Hawaiian shirts, or bear wintery Midwestern meet-and-greets without fluffy slippers?
We'll reminisce with Jimi as he asks, "Where were you when the Kentucky Wildcats ended it's record-making home court winning streak at 129 games in 1955? A memory for those who've been around the block in Jimi's time with the footsteps of Daniel Boone.
Sitting at his feet allowing his vast knowledge to go in one ear and out the other, he now commands riveting intent from me listening to his words while there is still this matter of when he's finally ready to hand me down his hula hoop. Timeless treasures like Jimi seem to never age.

Well ain't you'all just the nicest things. Ruth and I drove to Ft. Campbell and got our new military ID's and started the paperwork to start drawing my Army retirement from the reserves, so THAT part was cool.

For those that say I shouldn't be 60, I agree. I should be 40 but my kids laugh like I am an idiot since they are almost that age.

For those that said I don't look 60, there will be a little something extra in your paycheck next month.

Linda, the reason I don't look 60 in that pic is because I was only 55 ::).

Pat thanks for the pic with Jr. That was a good day. BTW, I was the one on the right.

Kevin, those were good words, funny but good. I also got an email from Elaine. It said, Turn the speakers up, so I did. She and Buddy and the kids all sang Happy Birthday. Not sure how they did it but that was cool too.

Guys, thank you for thinking of me on this day. You have all made it special. For those coming to St. Louis, I expect hugs from all the guys and sloppy kisses from all the girls. After all, I am harmless now right?

Yes Frank. That photo was taken in Hot Springs Arkansas. Mostly Road Stars and V-Stars. It was a rally put on by Yamaha. Had about 300 bikes there.

Awesome!! Mine's an '02 Yamaha Road Star 1600. I absolutely love it. I've had it up to 100 mph and the engine was still pulling strong. (I rolled off the throttle pretty quick, after I'd had quite enough of scaring myself...)
