Title: I AM SORRY!
Post by ronniek524 on Jan 13th, 2009 at 11:55am
Hello all.  I owe everyone an apology.  Couple weeks ago, I wrote regarding a pill from overseas that helped me, and got carried away with all the miracle it did to me.  Although, after the attacks I had for these couple weeks,  I guess the magical pill was not all that. :(...  The pill name was called CEFALIUM... it helps somehow, but not like the pill that takes the instant pain away I take now.  Treximet.  I think the active ingredient on this pill is the sumatriptan.  My pain goes away in less then 30 minutes after this pill, but the side effect is that if you take this pill too often it will ruin your stomach.  My attacks have been so severe that sometimes I would take 2 of these pills/ day for 2 weeks.  Insurance only covered 5% of this med, so I had to pay 180.00 for 9 pills :(.  Anyways...

I just wanted to say:

I am deeply sorry for giving many people false hope....

I found a site though that might help many about O2 though:

These are 18 ltr bottles of compressed air. They cite being able to supply 10 minutes of air at 2 lpm. Spend a few moments on this site and learn that O2 must be delivered at 15 lpm or more to be effective. Based on my math -- that leaves you with 1 minute of air out of one of these cans that someone wants to charge something on the level of $45 per can.

They have figured out how to package nothing and sell it like it is gold.

Please spend some time here prior to making recommendations like this. That's two so far in two posts that are not so good. 3 makes a pattern......

The pill you name in your first post is "Novalgina" which was banned in the US in 1977 and also banned in many other countries for the risk of death.  (aka Metamizole sodium.)

Now you say you were talking "Cefalium" which is a completely different medication. (it contains dihydroergotamine,  paracetamol and caffeine.)

So, which one were you taking?  :-?

Cefalium. Manufacturer:. Ache (Brazil). Active ingredients:. Paracetamol • dihydroergotamine mesilate • metoclopramide hydrochloride • caffeine

Cephalium

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Cephalium is a, frequently brightly coloured, structure of wool and bristle at the growing tip of certain cacti. It is most commonly found on cacti of the genus Melocactus and can take a number of colours, forms and shapes. The cephalium will only begin growing after a cactus has reached a certain size or age. Once flowering begins the flower buds will form from the cephalium.

I canot find quantitative chemical content data and it is an over the counter supliment aparently made from the cephalium of a catus plant. DHE breaks down from exposure to oxygen and sunlight so potency of the main ingredient is suspitious over a very short shelf life.

I am sorry too, ronniek524, that you only returned to plug some bullshit like  :(

Quote:
Today's breathable air contains less than 22% oxygen. That is true, it's only 21%. At one time our breathable air contained more than 50% oxygen. That is complete nonsense, the oxygen concentration has never been higher than it is today. In fact, oxygen-breathing live developed when it's concentration was only 17% How have our bodies adapted to this change in the most vital nutrient required by humans for cell reproduction and growth? Oxygen a nutrient?? Such utter nonsense can only come from a greedy scam artist. In fact oxygens, destroys the nutrients by burning them, to generate the energy we need.

If instead of surfing exotic snake oil sites you would rather read this message board, you would find a wealth of information on the proper use of oxygen.
The site you found will only gouge the unwary with its useless product.

As to Treximet, it has too been discussed here:

Ronnie,

On the "medications" board there are two threads regarding 02.  They're the 3rd. and 4th ones down from the top.  This informastion is important for everyone to read  if they want to try 02 and are unfamiliar about oxygen, why it works, how it works, getting the proper set-up, etc.

Happy reading to you.   ;)

Alien Space Guy gave you some golden advice. You will not find any magical instant cure on the internet...just oodles of snake oil salesmen selling berries and balms and cans of "air"...none of which will help you. Sit yourself down and read HERE about how to manage these issues. Then you won't have to keep apologizing for posting quack cures that do far more harm then good.

I dunno what to say...  I'll probably just read as much for now...  I almost bought the oxygen stuff today, if AlienSpaceGuy didn't say anything... thnx...  I definitelly gotta read more.  Got so much questions, but before that I wanna do more reading.

one thing though, I take treximet- and I think it works because of the sumatritan--xx,  i read the link posted earlier, and i just saw pill called imitrex.  When I take treximet, it takes 15~20min to kick in, although as I read the posts, imitrex kicks in slower?  Is that right?  Also, if i want to try imitrex, would it be cheaper then treximet?  Just super confiused right now :(.

I think I am lost...

You're lost no longer, Ronnie, and welcome home. Tell us a little more about yourself so we can help you to get sorted out.

Hey Ronnie,

My main abortive is Oxygen.  Imitrex has lots of side effects that I don't care for.  However, when all else fails I turn to Imitrex.

If you want fast relief from CH using Sumatriptan you need to use a needle or nasal spray and not a pill.  Stat dose kits which I use come in 4mg and 6mg doses.  4mg works great for me.  They'll stop an attack in its track in 10 mintutes for most.

Good luck and welcome...

Ronnie-

I take Imitrex 50mg pills.  From onset to PF is roughly 15 minutes if I catch it early, 60 minutes if I'm too late.  I'll be discussing with my new, CH-friendly neuro next month other abortive options (O2 to start with!).

Don't get overwhelmed, just keep reading...there are a lot of experts on this board.  It will take a bit to sort through it all, but you'll be glad you did.

I've been having CH for about 10 or less years.  My attacks happens every 2 years during summer for some reason (weird), and they usually lasted a month or less, but this year, it sort of missed summer and started on the first week of December.  I am getting a bit better, but some things started to trigger my headaches again :(.  My bet is that I had my private moment with mi wife and it sort of hit my nerve system? that nite.  Can't say until i do some research myself.

I want to use O2, but my headaches only last a month or so, and it only happens every 2 years.  I am not sure, if in my case is worth getting the o2 tank.  That is why i looked for other small O2 options, and I thought it was a good option for people like me.

I hope I wrote this in an understandable manner :(.

You're doing fine Ronnie  ;D

O2 doesn't have an expiration date.  The tanks will keep till your next cycle.

Don't get comfortable with how things are.  That can change overnight ... or not.  Don't dwell on it either.  Just be prepared and live your life.
