Title: Educated the Respitory Therapist today...
Post by Melissa on Jan 14th, 2009 at 1:47pm
at Walgreen's Medical Home supply.  Turns out their O2 supplier is LifeGas.  I was a little nervous explaining everything to her as I'm not the smartest person, but I think I did alright.  She was asking me all about it because she has had CH'ers in the past say that the O2 wasn't working for them, or quit working for them, and they had the old, standard nonrebreather.  So I explained about the higher flow rates and the mask that makes a difference (O2ptimask for example).

Anyway, I'm getting my O2 today, YAY!!!! :) :) :)

Hi Jeannie, yes I have and last cycle it worked excellent for me.

I was able to abort my attacks in as little as 6 min.  In the past the O2 had not worked well for me, but then 3 years ago (my last cycle) I broke down and bought a Clustermasx (not made anymore, so I'll definately be buying an O2ptimask from LifeGas when mine goes to crap!).

WHAT a difference!!

:)

TY!!  I kind of feel selfish asking for 3 M-tanks. :-/   I asked for 4 at first, but the way the lady was talking it made me feel uncomfortable, so I reneged on the 4 and went with 3 (which is what I had last time).

I don't want to have to make extra trips into town to swap them.  She told me the tanks would be $60 each, and they're still waiting to see how much my insurance will pick up, but I'm not worried about that.  We have flex spending in addition, so whatever it takes!

:)

Well, now I'm frustrated.  I could only get 2 M tanks and the only way I'd be able to get more is after seeing my GP.  I have an appt. with him on Tuesday.  He better hope that I don't need any refill before then!!! >:(

Enjoy the beauties.

I always swapped several E's for the M's that they offered so I could move them around easier.

what insurance do you have....empire, oxford all cover and if you are having problems sometimes it is not with the insurance but the supplier.

Ex) apria makes sure to work through everything...every little glitch with insurances to makes sure ya get all that is needed and they will deliver on a regular schedule or if called when needed.

good luck

Eric- I have Lumenos BC/BS.  The insurance wasn't the problem, it was my stupid doctor.  He's keeping me on a leash until I see him next Wednesday for a check-up. ::)

Since I stay at home, I barely go anywhere, so I'm not in need of the E tanks.  Not only that, I rarely get hit during the day.

One nice thing is the Therapist told hubby (who picked up the tanks for me) that if I need a refill before then, to let her know and she'd help me out.

Thank goodness for good people!! :)

Tell your doc that you are not "into" being leashed and that he is not only harassing you but he is witholding medical treatment and it is unethical.

Good luck and whip that sucker.......if you're into that kinda thang [smiley=curtain.gif]
