Title: another question from me (DHE)
Post by kevmd on Jan 15th, 2009 at 4:39pm
I was unaware of mixing triptans and Ergo's til recently   How does DHE work?  Does it constrict the vessels like trex?  Hava potential heart issue and want to know if DHE is an option

I LOVED how quickly it worked, but hated having to inject it. It is however a very potent vasoconstrictor, so unfotunately not likely well suited to you

Hello there:

It would be dangerous with most heart conditions.  DHE is a vasoconstrictor that constricts veins throughout the body.  It is effective for many, including me.

It did raise my blood pressure significantly!

Wishing you well,

Ray

I have two questions about it, too. I asked my nurse prac. about getting a scrip for it; it seems a neuro has to perscribe this type of med. One question is is it appropriate for post-menopausal females? I know Trexamet isn't. If not, why?
