Title: I think "IT" is taking a break now!
Post by snickers on Jan 21st, 2009 at 1:33am
Been cluster free for 3 days, usually at this point I'm feeling confident that it's giving me a break. this cycle was about 30 days and I "might" have 1 night break...

Of course I did a glass of wine to test...nothing happened.

Usually I only pop on when I'm in the phase, and then I drop out of site when I'm cluster free...I promise to stick around this time to support others since you all have been so supportive of me.

Ahh...the wine test.  I sure hope you continue pain free!

I'm guilty too of only coming to this wonderful site when I'm in cycle.  Thinking I might participate a bit more.  3 weeks into a new cycle.

All the best to you,

Don H

I can understand not paticipating...I imagine that when you go out of cycle, sometimes people just need to get back to a "normal" life for a while....or just have so much sh!t piled up that they couldn't get to!!!  :D

I really don't check in to often when out of cycle.  When I'm PF, CHs are the last thing I want to think about.

You have no idea how sweet the music is to my ears reading that, Snickers! :)

A clusterhead does not have a normal life, it will always come back. So, why leave when you can offer help to the newbies that show up here?

A newbie may show up with a question only YOU can answer......and your not here!  :'(

By thinking you can get away from CH when your not in cycle is just stupid, it will come back and you will be back!. Why run away when you can help, all help takes is a bunch of key strokes....no?

I was chronic for 31 years and now I have been pain free for nearly three years.....If it makes someone feel better to leave thats cool, I choose to welcome folks and offer my experiences and what has worked for me with meds and more.

We are all different, right?  ;)

Well said Jonny.  I walked away fro a while and I feel badly about it.  If you can even just give someone a little encouragement, it is worth sticking around.

Well said, Jonny.   :)

I used to  "disappear" when out of cycle as well.  Did it for six years.  I stuck around after my last cycle in 2006, and I'm glad I did.  Ninety percent of us are episodics.  I think it's important that we stick around to help when we're out of cycle as well.  Contrary to what I thought, we don't "curse" ourselves by talking about this stuff.  The beast is a sneaky bastard, but he can't read.

Thank you, Snickers, dhjack, and fiftyamp...you made my day.   :)

All the best,

George

I used to hide from the board off cycle. I sincerely thought thinking about them could start a cycle. No one was allowed to mention them off cycle for fear they'd come back!

What I've learned is there is ALWAYS new and exciting break thru's being made on treatments. Staying in touch with the board gives me the edge when the beast pokes his nose back into my life. And as Jonny said, there are so many scared newbies coming in every day. They're not looking for educated doctors, they're looking for people who hurt just like they do and understand!

So happy you're catching a break...that deserves a happy dance! [smiley=shore.gif]

I used to think that talking about them " brought them on".   It's good to be here in or out of cycle.   Receive help when you need it and give it when you don't.

What if everyone else went PF and left?  Although I wish it for EVERYONE,  I sure wouldn't want to log on and find that I am all alone.  That there is no one here to just offer me a hug and a little understanding.   I need this place.
