Okay... even though I may be referred to the looney bin, I'll tell you what happened.

I went for an MRI yesterday to check to see if the tumor I had removed from my breast last summer had returned.   I was in the "tunnel" for close to half an hour and when I was finished the tech , over the intercom, said they would be in to get me up in a minute.  No one else was in the room.   I suddenly got the strongest smell of my mother's parfume....   It wasn't like smelling it from a bottle but how it smelled on her.   She had breast cancer when I was ten......  I could smell it all over and can still smell it today, faintly.

I know this sounds nuts.... But I haven't been able to stop crying all day.   I've never had such an experience...  Am I losing my mind!?

Your Mom is here to support you at this time.  My Mom comes to visit from time to time as well.  I can hear her in the kitchen every so often.  

You aren't going crazy dear.  Some people are more sensitive to the energy than others.  You are one of us who are.

If you are losing your mind, then so are a lot of us!  Some science "experts" say that our minds are very powerful things that can fool us into thinking we smell certain smells and then attribute it to those who have passed (I read an article about it), but I do not believe that.

Many times, I have smelled my mothers perfume or my grandfathers aftershave.  I have also asked for my mom to be with me at certain points of my life, and she has come through for me.  For example, I had gone to my stepdads to retrieve my mom's recipe box.  It had been about 5 or 6 years since she died, and Lord only knew where it was.  I asked her to stay with me that day as I was nervous enough going to stepdads apartment in addition to maybe having lost the box forever.  Wouldn't you know it, we went into the storage room where there had to be at least 25 boxes scattered all over and the very 1st one my stepdad pulled down had the recipe box sitting right on top.

Ever since then, I know she's here with me if I truely need her.  There have been a couple other circumstances, but I won't get into it.

I believe without a doubt my mother was here in this room when my father passed away 2 years ago.  He outlived her by 21 years and I believe she came to show him the way.

Not crazy at all, the day I drove my van into a mountain and rolled it, I was told by every emergency worker on the scene that I was "one very very lucky lady" - luck was probably part, but I simply kept asking my Dad to help me.  He taught me how to drive.  And I walked out of that destruction with nothing more than a seat belt bruise.  Dad was with me and made sure I was here awhile longer.

Nope you're not crazy.   Science can only prove what isn't, it cannot prove (at least not yet) what is.

Not crazy at all although I'm sure I've gone around the bend. A couple of times in the morning I woke up and looked in bedrooms expecting to find my relatives. I have even looked for my mother's car in the garage expecting her to be there. My caveat is that I'm usually glad things are as they are when I snap out of it. I wonder if it's related to my seizures.

Jeannie, your mom was with you.  She knew you needed courage, so she stood by you to give it.
Voices in the kitchen, even a pair of shoes taken out of the closet, they have ways of know when we need them, and, in some very small.....nearly undetectable ways, they let us know their presence.
Jeannie, I'm glad your mom was there for you. I hope you find her beside you more often.

Goosebumps!!!  Jeannie, when I read your story of your "encounter" my whole body got goosebumps!!!  I think that is amazing and like the others have said, embrace it.  

Keep us posted on the MRI results too please!!  Gotta make sure you're around to party with us next year!!   ;)   8-)
