Title: Gamma knife surgery
Post by Dan on Jan 28th, 2009 at 3:42pm
Hi everyone hope all is well, My wife visited our GP (the same one that treats me for CH) earlier today and whilst she was there he had done some homework regarding this procedure. Apparently it has been used a few times on CH patients ( do not know the success rate, need to do some homework for myself on that one) and is going to contact my nuero tommorow to discuss the possibilty of receiving this treatment in London (apparently this is a longshot).
I will post the link with some info regarding this treatment at the end of the thread.
I don't know if any one else in our community has ever heard of this treatment or maybe has even reacieved it, any thoughts or knowledge would be great.

You can use the custom search on this webpage to point you towards CH section, this link explains the procedure of the treatment.

Thankyou all

From what I've observed, it's not a good one.  Please use the Google search function in the right hand upper corner and type in "Gamma Knife".  It'll pull up past posts on the subject.

Take care,
mel

I was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma several years ago, and had gamma knife surgery early last year to treat it.  This was done at Barrow Neurological, where I've also seen neurologists for CH treatment, and at no point did they mention that the gamma knife would have any effect on my CH.  Moreover, I also had transsphenoidal surgery (endoscopic neurosurgery done through the nose) and had a cycle immediately following.
